I decided back in the early 70's to put together the best sounding Fender Precision hybrid bass I could. I took a '63 neck which is just smooth as glass (my palms just slide effortlessly up and down) and a '64 body and put them together. Over the years I tired many different types of pickups and styles and finally settled on the EMG actives. To me by far the smoothest, punchiest and warmest of them all. One master volume knob; one pick up blend knob between the P & J pickups with detent; one master tone knob - simple. It plays and chords beautifully. Of course it is a Precision neck so it is a bit wide - but I loved it.

I put many years into perfecting this bass and as a result nothing is really stock anymore: Active EMG pickups; BadAss bridge; brass nut; Schaller gears (notice the addition of the added HipShot D-tuner which drops the low E to a D (perfect intonation); also the strap lock strap system. Such tone and low action articulation is just marvelous. An unmistakeable Fender sound. Comes with well made and appointed soft carry bag. Also 1 additional set new strings; tuner and strap lock strap system and strap. Very comfortable.

One caveat is that there does exist a very, very slight "S" midway down the neck. However the set up takes care of any of that issue and is truly noticeable only if you're looking for it.

'Cause nothing delivers that VINTAGE FENDER 60s TONE better than active EMGs.

We're a vocalist and a drummer, looking to make some original music, along the lines of The Sex Pitols, The Beatles, B-52s, Cannibal Corpse, Nirvana, Black Sabbath, Parliament Funkadelic, Tool, and ofcourse New Kids On The Block and William Shatner.We're mostly looking for a guitarist or two and a bassist. Erhuists and accordian players are also welome but please no zufolo players, that's just getting weird, and it's not the sound we're looking for. No offence.The drummer is Malaysian and I'm a pygmy so please we don't want any discrimintory, we're here to create great music, produce great shows, and eat vegetables.
