but this moron chic walks up to my wife after a show and tells my wife she must have sang "alone" by heart down a key because she couldnt sing that high......and then just started out loud like she was trying to score a tryout. what a creep.
Should have told him that only half the band was here tonight so it would be "4 1/2 inch Nails".
One time the bar manager gave my band five bracelets with which we were allowed to go backstage. There was only one problem: there were six of us. I (being the bass player, of course) didn't get a bracelet and it took me ten minutes to convince the bartender I was going to perform that night.

For an office Christmas party I was asked if I can bring less than the full band because the club is pretty small and they'll need to put some tables and chairs up on the stage. Heh.
Also been asked if "we know any Metallica" when playing at a medieval festival in early medieval costume with no guitars in the band. The kid who made the request seemed genuinely surprised that we don't because these festivals apparently attract a lot of metalheads.

The sad thing is, after 38 years, I've experienced all of these. Why do I bother? 'Cos I love my bass, that's why.

My favorite is still from a year a go when a girl came up to me and said, "Wow. You guys sound really great. I've got a question though. How come you don't have a bass player?" And she was dead serious. She got really embarrassed when I told her that would be me.
