I’m sure it’ll be fantastic, but my only concern with the HM-2 is the same as any other - would I find any use for it besides maxing it all out a la Swedish Death Metal? I mean, I love my Left Hand Wrath, but I use it for identical tones to my original HM-2s. Would 5is do anything I like besides the standard tone? (Which is 100% a subjective question...)
I've toyed with the idea of getting a DA120 for a while. If I was going to do it, I'd want one of the big ones.
It’s an amp emulation of the GT120. It’s pretty subtle in some settings, and a bit like a clean ODB setting. Warm and dark. Not cutting and bright like the VT. It’s pretty amp like. With the big box, there are three types of distortion: gain, drive, and boost. Each is a different flavor, and they each influence the next in the chain.
For me, it’s a bit of a preamp or tone shaper, and less about big crunchy dirt.
I’m actually considering letting mine go, but looking at the small box preorders at the same time. Really, I don’t need it, but I love having it. I just have too much gear and thinking of flipping the things I currently use the least, now that I do mainly synth work.
It’s a cool box, for sure. I know I’ll miss it if I decide to sell it.
This just cements my reality that I don’t want bright cutting bass tones. My ODB and VT are at nearly identical settings, both with treble at about 9:00! Makes sense since I love flats and all that.
I haven't turned it off since I got it. I definitely use it as more of a warm preamp/tone shaper, though it has some great heavy fuzzy sounds when cranked.
I definitely miss having some Dunwich dirt on hand! The post-modified by Nick 125B is the only dirt pedal that I really miss that I've had. I use pedals so infrequently these days, but man do I love distortion when I do...and Nick's the man when it comes to dirt!!

Since I have two open runs I am not sure. With the imminent baby 2 arriving in early March I don't know what my schedule is going to look like. I planned on getting these two open runs done and any customs I already have in the book. Not sure I will have the time so its hard to say for sure.

MONDO. Its a simple little bass preamp/OD but it has a massive low end bump.
Pulled the bass out and made some noise today.
