There are some great technicians out there. But I'd get the capacitors first myself. Because those play a big role in the low end oempf and the originality. Those screw in capacitors make the amp well laid out, durable and with awesome low end oempf. When they use new capacitors they either open up the old screw in capacitors and solder them in there or they make a big mess in the amp. Wich means it could be very unreliable.

Jan Wüstens offers the capacitors (get the 500 V versions...) and the tubes. If the main transformer has problems, notably mechanical noise (a fair amount of these have including my Imperator), You'll be more or less on Your own.

Technically, the amp is pretty similar to the Imperator. From memory: the biggest difference is the tremolo. Here a link to the schematics: Invalid Link Removed
Alternatively, Dynacord is usually very open to send You a copy.

Replacement for the switches is merely impossible to obtain.

Yesterday i bought another old Dynacord. My 2nd Eminent 2 - this time the older all tube version. It is the bigger version of the Bassking 1 i showed earlier in this thread: twice its power, two additional input modules and more inputs on the back. I should be able to chain it with the Bassking and then run my 2x115 Rig with 120 / 160 Watts, the smaller amp driving the louder Box. In direct comparison, the all tube versions have a fuller and warmer sound.

I do already know that it will need the usual work - recapping, new adjustment pots for the power stage, and i consider disabling two of its four input modules and use their tubes as backups (rare ECC808).

(Yes, i am crazy. Maybe i should sell my Imperator...)

Here's my Dynacord BassKing 1 from '73-74 I think. ~ 45 - 50 watts of full tube power. Apart from the standby swithch, tubes and some caps it's all original. Impressively build with the two big overengineered trafo's. Great sound! Stays clean for a long time when turning the volume up, but at the end it turns into a fuzz monster. I like the clean sounds better though. Very smooth, organic and musical. The instrument input is clean, a bit scooped and kind of modern sounding. Sounds great with my vintage active Azumi bass. The mic inputs are a little more 'rude' and hotter.

I use it with a Jack 12 cab I build for this amp. The temporary front grill needs a little more work though. It gets quite loud with the efficient eminence speaker! A nice match with the bassking, delivers plenty of deep bass.

nice amp, and even preferrable to the later basskings. Mostly because it uses standard tubes.

Mhmm, that was already the time of my Imperator. These Basskings are 10 years older than You think, '63-64 would be a realistic estimate.

BTW: which speaker do You use? (If i did another 12" i would go for the delta 12).

The piezo's aren't that bad, they're not clicky, thin and harsh. Maybe that's the sound of the bassking though. But I am intrigued by a 6 incher for mid driver. I really enjoyed building this cab, so my next cab build will probably be a 2 way system with 12-15 inch bass and 6 inch mid drivers.

These Basskings are 10 years older than You think, '63-64 would be a realistic estimate.

BTW: which speaker do You use? (If i did another 12" i would go for the delta 12).

Of course, youre right, it's from the sixties. I got this amp for free when I bought a Farfisa VIP500 transistor organ, which is from '73-74. I love the fact it uses widely available and affordable tubes as well.

The speaker I used was the Eminence Basslite S2012. It sounds good, but it's rated at only 150 watts RMS. It doesn't have problems with the 45 watt Bassking. I got the S2012 because it was a special offer (really cheap), it's light (Neo) and suitable for the Jack 12.

I would love that basking / jack combo.

There are closed back 6 and 8 inch speakers wich would fit your design nicely. And if you could make the horns switchable you will have a nice small all purpose cabinet...

Your design is often used for small full range home speakers... And it is a design to get time aligned...

Problem usually is people blow the 6 inch. But current speakers can handle that bassking easily...

Time for an update... I am using the BA300 now every week during band practice. And I use it for clean and sometimes I turn up the gain to get a growly tone.

I think maybe a channel boost could do that too. I have modified a 2x10 to become stereo. Now I allso have fixed up a Crown amp. (2x300 watts) and I bought a Korg AX10B. So I would like to split before the AX10B and feed the signal to the mono amp and to the stereo amp with the AX10B. So when I choose extreme fx I won't looze bottom...

Here a photo; the Eminent is the tiny little beast on the left below the Bassking. I could manage to buy the rests of a HiFi-Favorit (everything except transformers and the tube stuff, nice for future builds...). That little box has almost half the power of my newest acquisition - a great sounding Hiwatt clone:
