E string sounding klunky - is this normal?

Hi guys

I'm new to playing the bass and recently purchased a Squier P Bass Classic Vibe which I absolutely love!

Question though, I find the E string is very klunky, especially when played open - is this normal, or does the action need adjusting?

Are the strings still new?
Sounds like it needs a set up

Yes they are new.

I haven't had it set up yet so that's probably what it is. I'll have to take it somewhere for it to be sorted.
