EA on the way

There are many EA owners (me included) who love the sound of their EA gear run with a flat eq. I use eq only to solve room problems, really.

If you're not one of those guys, I'd caution you to be patient with yourself as you learn to use the eq section of the iAmp. It can be simple or complicated, depending on how well you understand the setup. You'd be well-advised to read the info in the manual about getting familiar with things. I've seen a few guys give up theirs because they didn't have the patience to get their heads around the thing.

I now own the exact same rig.

I have had the iamp for a few months and within the last week purchased a new NL210. I special ordered a 4 ohm version.

I was amazed at the difference in the tone between this tiny cabinet and the larger 115 and 212 that I had been using. You will have no problems with volume, either. The efficiency of this combination is amazing you can hear yourself anywhere in the room.

I keep the EQ flat with the Contour I button depressed. I use a MIA Fender Jazz with Norstrand NJ4 pickups, rotosound round wounds and now I hear every note crystal clear. Nice bright top end with a warm wooden finish.

I have so far played 2 rehearsals and had a show last night in a medium sized club and it is exactly what I was looking for in tone and portability.

The guitar player in my band, a boutique equipment junky, even remarked that he never thought anything could sound as good as the Boogie 400+ I was using.

Just in case, don't forget to buy a speakon to speakon speaker cable.

I've owned my iAmp 500 for over a year and still don't think I know how to use the eq correctly. With URB I just run it flat. With EB I've tried many things and when I finally get it to sound like I want it, I try to leave it at those settings. I've never really been one for knob twiddling.

I'd like to try the NL210/CxL112 setup. :)

I'm on backorder also for my NL-210. I believe they are transitioning from the series I models to the new, lighter series II and are probably having trouble filling the retail channel quickly. This is pretty common when there are model changes. I assume as soon as they have the NL-210's in full production, there won't be much of a wait.

IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!!! MY MINI-ROD IS COMPLETE!!!!!!

This this is built like the preverbial brick :D house! Great cover, and very light! Totally worth the wait!

I've only had a little time to tinker with it, but so far so good (so what) little nod to Mustaine :D

Great! I'm glad that you are happy with this purchase. Some guys were checking out this exact combo at the GTG, and I saw big smiles all around. :)
