They swore they'd never do a Tube Screamer, now they do 3 lol. It's good though. These pedals keep the cash flow up so they can do the weird stuff, kind of like how Zappa used to write a radio hit every so often just so he could afford to keep composing the more experimental stuff.

The closest I heard was an Ibanez 808 with the Keeley mods for extended bass - it still lost a little low end but had that mid forward crunch that I associate with classic tube screamers. All the ones I have heard that were specifically tuned for bass were cool overdrives but just didn’t sound very tube screamery to me.

I kinda concluded a while ago that there are better overdrive circuits for bass full stop and stopped looking for one that would work.

That's based on the Fulltone OCD, if I remember correctly

not to derail the thread into Tubescreamer chat but anyone know how close the Bad Monkey is to sounding like an actual TS? i've been getting back into mine lately.

Plumes looks good, not bad price too although no doubt it will be more in the UK.
