Michael, I would love to post pics, but I made a promise not to post pics of the new bass until the former owner gets his new build finished. Anyone wanting pics is welcome to PM me I can send you a link to the pics from last night.

Confused is a very small club and tonight we are doing things a little different. One of our coworkers plays a mean blues guitar, and he is leaving at the end of the month to go back to Japan, so this is sort of a farewell party for him. We will start playing around 6 pm to do a set of material that features him, then we will take an extended break to visit and chat with anyone who shows up. We will probably start back up with the three piece Soul Driver at 9 pm or thereabouts.

One of the MAJOR pluses of this club is that it is non smoking. The food is great as well, there is always a pleasant crowd, no rowdies to speak of and the staff is courteous and friendly. If folks can't make it tonight, I would encourage people to get out and support this venue, it is one of our favorites for the reasons mentioned above.

Jody, you have only yourself to blame for starting me down this Dingwall road!

For those that don't know him, Jody is a great guy and an extremely talented bassist. I met him on TB and was asking him questions about his Dingwall AB1 and he offered to meet me and let me try it out. I was hooked from the get go! Later on he offered to sell it to me, and I didn't hesitate.

That's the great thing about TalkBass, you meet so many wonderful people you wouldn't otherwise have met. Bass players as a group are the nicest down to earth folks I've ever had the pleasure to meet and do business with. Makes me wish that bands could consist of more than one bass player:hyper:

Hello everyone!!! I am new to this site but would love to join in on this thread. I am from East TN. (Newport/Cocke County). I have been playing bass for a while and truly enjoy every chance I get to play. I love new gear and buying gear and basses!!! Right now my passion is truly for Warwick basses. I have owned 6 Warwicks and currently own 4 now (the older the better)!!! Love to hear from others about gear and any thing else. So if anyone has a Warwick for sale hit me up sometime!!! I also love Low End Jazz basses. I currently own a 6 string LEJ that is a piece of art. Much thanks to Brian Barrett at Low End!! Look forward to hearing from everyone!!! Thanks and God Bless!!!

Thanks rollerberg2000!!! I am not playing much right now due to a sickness of some kind I have been battling for over a month now. Hope to get back to playing SOON!! Man, that is one sweet looking Ritter you have!!! I played a couple at the Low End Bass Shop when I bought my LEJ but the ones I played really did not do anything for me(as far as tone). They are super sweet basses though!!! I just prefer the sound of Warwicks over anything I have ever played. I just keep going back to them no matter what else I get. Thanks bro!!

Hope you get better soon, a month is a long time. And glad you've found your sound. For me, it seems to be anything w/ a MM style bucker near the bridge.

Thanks JEDI BASS. I appreciate it. The doctors seem to be narrowing it down to some type of auto immune disease (not sure what yet). It is for sure taking its toll on me. I am probably going to have to sell my LEJ 6 string due to being out of work this long. That is the last thing I would want to do, but some things can't be helped. Hopefully get back to work soon and just to get back to normal would be good. I have not been able to play in my church band hardly any in the past couple of months. Thanks to everybody for your encouragement!

sure any time. I usually take Monday and Tuesday off, or a day or two more if I can get a part timer in BUT you will definitely find me there on weekends. And we usually play after 1 pm when that lazy SOB who makes the cigar box guitars drags his ass out of bed and brings it to work. he's is local to you also , lives in Cosby.
My shop is on level F next to the guy that makes them cheap CANJO's ( soda can on a stick with a guitar string on it, CLAIMS it is an instrument) and across from the Nudie shop. Look for the wood bear in front of the door or just follow the thump of the bass.

The Hubcaps are playing at The Strawberry Festival in Morristown this Saturday, the 21st, then next Saturday the 28th at the Moose Lodge. Getting some calls about car shows, too. Those are always fun, if a bit hot. Other than that, we're booked June 17th at the Moose, 25th at a 50th anniversary party in New Market and July 2nd at the VFW in Morristown. That's about how we old farts like it; 2-3 times a month, same for gigs. :D

Finished the run of the show. It was lightly attended, and was a charity/no-pay event, but I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Got an offer to play another theatre show last night. I'll be playing three consecutive productions starting in late June and running through the end of July.

Soul Driver is doing another heat stroke show this Saturday at Cancun's in Maryville. I say that in jest, I hope it's clear and cool, but here lately, sheesh! We played biker night last Wednesday at Nater'z and I'm pretty sure I got too much heat, direct sunlight, on blacktop to boot.

Gosh, I'm not really sounding like I'm encouraging anyone to come to this show am I? I'm getting to be a wuss in my older years, I like my air conditioning on 68.:hiding:
