East Tennessee Talkbass

They stopped making them in the USA in 2006. This is the Rumblefish 5L. A total on 289 5 strings were made in the US and 74 of them were black. This one is a 2001 model.
Feels like Déjà Vu, but here is the newest member of the ETTB family...
For those who aren't familiar with Reverend basses, they were made in Michigan from 1997 until 2006. They only produced 289 of this model, the Rumblefish R5L, and 74 of those were black. You can still buy new Reverend basses, but I think their production has moved to Korea. I liked the looks and have wanted one for quite a while, so when this one popped up in the TB classifieds a few days ago, I snagged it. It's here, but I haven't had the opportunity to check it out yet as I was away on business all week.

Jeff Roller (rollerberg2000) and I were talking about having a GTG in the fall of 2014 at the same time as the Louie Bluie Festival. Our thought was that we might be able to get Ralphe Armstrong to be a presenter. We also discussed bringing in a session bassist from Nashville. Rusty Holloway, who teaches bass at UTK, might be willing to present after an appropriate amount of undue influence from Jeff and me. We would have to pay a registration fee to pay any presenters and cover the costs of publicity, venue rental, etc., and Jeff's and my post-GTG debriefing in Aruba 
(just kidding about the trip to Aruba, guys). If this is big enough, we could probably get some vendors to pay for the privilege of exhibiting. We would also need help from the rest of you ETTBers. If enough of us are up for it, we should have a meeting, plan the GTG, and get moving. The sooner we start, the better. Are any of you willing to help?

Sounds interesting. Could be cost-prohibitive. I'd attend a meeting to discuss if I'm in town.
Well fun. I get back on Talkbass after a brief absence to discover our non-Tennessee mod has deleted my new Part 3 thread in favor of this one that he started. Makes me wonder why I pay good money every year to support this outfit. I was just trying to carry on with a new part of the East Tennessee Talkbass thread as I had been doing. Oh well. 
I'm not adding a link to this one to my signature here, in fact, I just took the whole Part 1/2/3 out completely. I learned a long time ago (this is my tenth year as a supporting member on Talkbass, too) that protesting to Paul or any of the mods does no good. Reminds me of the federal government.

Yeah, I would not take it personal Michael. I have dealt with J-raj and I am sure he did not mean anything by it. As a matter of fact, he did start the thread first before you started it . He probably just did not see the need for another ET thread because two would cause confusion so he deleted one of them. No big deal. We still have a thread and I still love Talkbass. Thankful to have a place to talk to and learn from other bass players WAY better than me!!! I have learned from a lot of great people on here, including you guys from East Tennessee, and will continue to do so. Thanks to all of you!!!!
Hear, hear, man. I just got into the swing of the E. TN group, can't wait for the next GTG, and am so grateful for the connection you've created between the online community and the real life community. Please keep us connected.
