If I weren't dirt broke, my friend, I would be there!!! Hopefully, I can get some repairs coming in soon, to supplement my day job income...my bench is only seeing my guitars, with unnecessary repairs. I'm aching to do some good, for other people... break a leg, and rock a few, for me!!!

Pres Pub was a personal favorite of mine. You need to try to get on stage at Scruffy City next :)

Been keeping my eyes open for one of these for a couple of years now. Very fortunate and blessed to have been in a position to snag this one when it popped up for sale here on TB yesterday. Not sure I'll get along with all the knobs too well. That's one of the reasons I love my P5 so much. Not too hard to dial in a tone I like. My experience so far with modern preamps hasn't been as fulfilling. On the other hand, it does have a push/pull passive/active volume knob.

For sure! The band I mentioned above doesn't have that much of a following yet, though. Both bands I'm in sort of bounce between the two places based on what Scott strategizes for the night. Scruffy is cool because of the no-smoke atmosphere and the concert-like stage, but don't you feel a lot more removed from the crowd? Seems fine if the place is relatively full but tough when it's an off-night. Pres Pub is so naturally cramped it has the energy baked in! Also, did you ever have an issue with dead spots on stage at Scruffy? With some rigs I'm fine, but with others the bass sort of disappears at certain frequencies (not to mention that room is trebly as all getout).

FWIW, not sure how long it's been since you were on the Pres Pub stage, but between some new equipment and Kurt running the boards, sound has gotten waaaay better there in the last year or so.

Man, it has been close to three years at this point! I was actually part of one of the first groups to play Scruffy City :D Soon after that, my drummer went on to play in a group called The Black Lilies, and my guitarist and old keys guy took an older group we were all in, reformatted it, and created Backup Planet.

Unfortunately for me, I decided it was smarter to start a "real" career down in Atlanta, so I haven't played out in awhile :woot::wacky:

If you have any gigs, please feel free.to post them. Thats something we all do.
We have some get together's here and there, so hopefully we.can get more people involved in them. I personally have only been able to make it to one of them, but I had a great time and got to meet some great guys for sure.

This was never a "club" in the sense of other such threads in TB, we never did numbers or anything like that. It's for anybody that plays bass and either lives in east Tennessee or loves our beautiful part of the world. So, welcome. Post away, tell us about you and your music.
