We have had a LOT of fellow bassists in ET post in this thread. It was never supposed to be a traditional "club" thread where every one gets a number, so we never had a list of everyone. Does anyone know if TalkBass has a tool to compile a list of usernames of people who've posted in a thread?

(Update - I have posted this question in the TB Forum Usage Help section. @Lobster11 says that you can see who all has replied in a thread using "Who Replied?" in the Thread Tools next to Watch/Unwatch Thread. But there is probably no easy way to capture the list. Predictably, the people who have posted the most in ETTB are all still around, while the people who posted the least (1 or a few more) are inactive on TB these days. Take a wild guess who has posted the most on here! It's NOT me.)

It'd be interesting to see who all is still around on TB from 11 years ago. For instance, I checked VictorG's profile, and he has not been on TB since 2012. Also, when we talked up the first GTG for east Tennessee in 2007, which was posted in the Social Events and GTG section and predated this thread, most of those guys are no longer active on TB.

One could say that Phil Jones Bass gear is the personification of Jeff- Your hat on the stack is very fitting. Glad it was a fun eve!

There's at least one Dingwall in Scott County, my old band mate Odell's current bass player has one. He did sit in with us several times and got hooked on Dingwall and had to have one!

No Phil Jones gear that I'm aware of up there though!

Weekend before last at the Blind Frog off the Huntsville exit. Talked Clint into sitting in on bass for a few songs, I love listening to that bass in the mix!

Outdoor shows are sort of over, we played "Music on Main" last Saturday in Oneida, we waited out the rain to set up, and the evening was perfect!

my friends got a cabin up there. Let me know if you do more gigs in that area. It could turn into a fun get away weekend.

That is a great little setup, that Dingwall is smoooove. I have 3 adopted kids from Oneida but I’ve never been there.

@Mr. Business still has his Genz NX2-212T cab up for a local sale. It's in great shape and reasonably priced. I've thought about it, but I think the only ETTB'er with more amps and cabs than me is Jeff..

I would like to get out and hear some live music the next several weeks or so- preferably one of you playing - any of you gigging?

Gig news - I'm going back to Webb School in Knoxville for a theatre production at the end of the month. Dates are Oct. 29 and 30, evening perfs at 7:30, Sunday matinee at 2:30. I'm looking forward to it, after having to miss playing for them last year due to the knee injury I had last summer.

I'm thankful that Webb asked me back after they used the guy last year who has become my theatre competition. Alas, he was asked to play the Maryville High show again this year that I was originally asked to play last year and could not, also due to the injury. (Those two productions were the same month, November, last year. I wasn't driving again yet.) I really wanted that one. But, sometimes ya wins, sometimes ya don'ts, life is not always fair. I hope to get another chance at the MHS opportunity, maybe next year.

If anyone is interested in seeing the Webb show, message or text me and I'll send the details. I can get several people in free at least.

My theatre show opens tonight. We do three performances this weekend and it's over, so it'll be a fast trip through it.

I’ve been on TB for a while but only just found this thread, so hi! I’ve lived in Knoxville for 20-odd years but haven’t played out for the last 18 or so, and recently got the itch to play again, so it’ll be useful to see what’s going on around town!

Gibson SG, MM Stingray Special 5 and Rumble 500 (and Serge and Buchla synths, but that’s for another forum)…

Welcome, @excesseye ! There's a pretty good chunk of east Tennessee's bassists here. We've had a few come and go from Talkbass proper in the 11 years we've been going. Most of the early posters are still here, like Jeff, Jody, and Richard. If you read back through the posts, we had a couple of get-togethers early on, 2011 and 2012, and a few smaller ones after those. We're in agreement that we need to have another one soon, just haven't figured out where and when- let's say 2023! Also, there's been a fair amount of gear exchanged in this group over the years, and there are at least two guys here that have done or are doing instrument repairs and setups- just ask. From time to time when it gets quiet, I'll ask everyone to check in with any gigs happening. We're glad to have you!

Thanks, Michael, that's all good info. I'll read through the thread properly this evening. I'm thinking about a couple of electronics mods to my SG bass, so maybe I'll find someone here to help (my soldering is dangerous).

Christmas Eve at Fellowship Church on Middlebrook. Seats about 1200. Three services scheduled.

I'm playing Advent service at Trinity UMC on the 18th. It'll be a regular cantata with books.

Hope everybody made it through the cold! Our Christmas Eve service was a bit nippy at 49 degrees (heat was out) but around 400 brave folks came anyway!
Similar story for the 1 service Christmas morning. I brought in my propane heater which got it up to a balmy 56 by the time service started.

I know I'm crazy, but these are the experiences I cherish as I get older, this was fun and unexpected.

It was bittersweet as well, there will be some folks not on stage a year from now. Our congregation is birthing a new church plant down towards Vonore next year we hope.

Love these people and love our God!
