Fellow bassists,
There is a charity event on 9/7/12 in Sevierville TN that my band is not going to be able to play for, so I'm making a plea for anyone who wants to get their band some good exposure and help out a worthy cause.

Pets Without Parents is a local based charity that raises money for a no kill shelter in Sevier County. This is their annual big fundraiser, so it is really important. Maybe an hour's worth of music is needed, the rest of the event is invited speakers, auctions, and other presentations. Cool food, good wine, and a very good cause!

Soul Driver played it last year, but that band broke up in January.

My new project consists of pros that are on call and one of the members can't get out of work that night, so I hope someone can fill the gap.

You're right, sorry. Plans to visit my folks are easy to make. Plans to get away while I'm there without feeling guilty are not so easy. They're really getting up in years and don't have many left.

Let me make it up to you by buying you the cold non-alcoholic beverage of your choice at the church and encouraging you to play the crap out of the lovely Audiokenisis Thunderchild 115AF I'll be bringing.

From what I heard before, you have a good ear for tone so I'm sure whatever you put together will work nicely.

Folks in east Tennessee I need some advice. Take the fretless Benavente off the market for now, or trade it for the trans green lakland p5 in the classifieds? Love the fretless, but need a backup while my nordy gets a make over.

I'm currently looking to buy a new cab (4x10, 6x10, 8x10, etc...) as my Genz Benz Neos are no longer cutting it for me. If anyone is looking to sell something then please feel free to shoot me a PM to let me know what you got. I only ask because no one (understandably) seems to want to ship cabs in the classifieds, and as such I'm somewhat forced to go local.

The Lakland is certainly a good looking bass. Beautiful refin! Two things that would bother me are the string spacing (doesn't look to be 19 mm) and the fact that it's a Skyline and not a US Lakland. Don't sell the Benavente short in haste. You are welcome to use my Jazz V while the Nordy is in the shop.

I'm more than happy to leave a nice fretless in you're hands for awhile aswell I'm going to call carey tomorrow, but I'm thinking I might pull the benavente add for awhile. My debt is slowly snowballing down to nothing, so I might not need to sell in haste soon!

Sounds like win/win to me. You get a Solid backup to use while the Nordy gets TLC and I get to fondle a super sexy Fretless for a while! Let me know if you want to meet to make the exchange before the GTG.

All Lakland 5ers are 19mm.

But I feel the same: prefer US over Skyline. In fact, I will rarely buy a Sky now unless I've played it first.
