East Tennessee Talkbass

13 hrs in the 100+ heat 2 weeks ago and about 10 in it again Saturday.... racing RC cars w/ my daughter. It's, at times, just as fun as gigging but the severe muscle cramping I've been getting afterwards is making me rethink my hobby change.

Me and the drummer are jamming w/ some new guys tomorrow. If it goes well, I'll be trying to cram a band in my schedule.

So......is your singer dude up for grabs? If so, contact info please.....as a fellow bass player, nothing else......JS

If I had the money to move anywhere on the planet, 'twould be East TN. Unfortunately, due to blowing all my $$ on music gear, I can only afford giant pile of orange T-shirts :)

Oh well, someday...

...while Southern Illinois still pales in comparison to East TN, I'm happy to announce that my local IGA now carries a limited selection of MAYFIELD ICE CREAM!!!!!!!

Carry on with your regularly scheduled program and have a fine evening:D

We are confirmed for August 12th, Sunday from 2pm to 6pm for the Summer 2012 ET TB GTG!

Everyone reserve the date, I'll be adding details as they come in!

The day is quickly approaching, hope everyone is keeping that day open on their calendar!

Really looking forward to seeing everyone again, as well as some new faces!

New twist for this GTG: PM me if you plan on selling gear at this GTG. Or if you have gear willing to trade. I will compile a list of gear that will be offered, contact, and price. Trade bait will be mentioned within reason, but if trades are going to go on, they best be done in person. I suggest that in the spirit of TB, if sales or trades do happen, leave each other feedback on the forum, it only helps establish your credibility as a seller and as a buyer.

We had a fantastic group of guys last year, I think this one will be even better!

Also, I need to know in advance if private demo rooms are needed. There is limited availability, but first come first served. I dislike these on principal, as they tend to isolate participants from the rest of the group, but if a particular set up calls for it, we can make it happen.

Thanks guys, hope everyone is having a great summer!

Hello All, I'm trying not to be too off topic here but I figured I would post in the E TN forum since that's the location where the need is.

My band is in need of a drummer, our current drummer's schedule has gotten too busy with work, new baby etc. His last show is august 4th. If any of you guys know of a good drummer that has good gear and transportation. The band plays country, classic rock, blues and some originals. We played nearly 80 shows last year but are slowing the pace a little bit.

If you know of anyone, just have them get a hold of me (Charlie) at [email protected]

Here is our reverbnation page with schedule and some songs and videos

I have a gig backing Oona Love on the 12th. I might be able to make it. I have been out of circulation for a long time, but, it seems as though I am back in it, stronger than ever! If someone can PM the details, I will double check with Oona, and see when I have to be there for setup and soundcheck. Thanks, and it's great to be back in the swing of things in my home of East TN!

Hello ET TB brethren,
We are less than a week out and I haven't seen a lot of interest in the GTG. If August 12th is going to be a bad day I can reschedule.

Please pm me by Thursday if you plan to attend. If we need to move it I'm okay with that. I will let everyone know by FRIDAY after I see how many are coming and how many can't and make a decision then on keeping Aug 12th or moving it.

Thanks
Jeff

I already sent you a PM saying that I will go with whatever the group deems best.

Please call the ball as early as possible. Also, let us know when you want for-sale gear info.

In case we do get together this weekend, 99% of my gear is plain vanilla. A pile of P's and J's some bone stock, others with aftermarket goodies. The new Aguilars in a P and Fender 60's customs in a J. The Dargie had to be sent back for a board problem.

I do have a pair of the limited run Mexi antiguas in P and J. They are both bone stock. Fender's QC has been astounding recently. If you want to spend some time with either, without some 13 year old slap tard ruining your critical listening experience, let me know.

I will be bringing a spotless EBMM olympic white lined fretless Stingray. I can't play the thing worth a crap but I know we have some fretless players that can wear it out.

I'll also bring the Hartke Kilo for sure. I still havent decided if I am going to run the 810 with it for gigs, or go in another direction and run twin 15's, old school style. So, still havent wrapped up my perm cab choices and therefore am holding off on purchases. That and the fact that I just hawked my butt to cover the purchase listed at the bottom of the page.

I also have some Carvin gear if you'd like a listen. I'll bring both the 410 BRX and the 210 BRX Neos. Pretty impressive cabs for the money. And I have a BX500 which has a pretty good rep. THe 210 and BX 500 rock for practices not requiring huge stage volume.

I run a g-50 cordless if anyone want s to try one, as well as a GT 10B for anyone interested in running a higher end board.

I'll save the 1967 Ampeg B15 Portaflex and BT ext cab that I just got, for the next GTG. Should be fully restored by then.
