East Tennessee Talkbass

I had posted earlier this morning that I'd be attending the GTG on April 7. Unfortunately, after I double-checked the date for the Hendrix cruise in Knoxville, I see it is also on April 7, at 3 PM. Ooops!

I'm pretty much committed to going on the cruise at this point as a supporter and audience member, but I'll talk to the "power-that-is" and see if I can go to the GTG instead.

Let me know when we should start posting what we have in terms of gear and I'll get a list up. Thankfully, I am ecstatic with my gear so this buy, sell, trade nightmere can come to an end.

Unless a bass shows up which speaks to my soul. Always room for a bass......

I am playing 2x at the Hendrix cruise gig on April 7. Bass for Alien Love Charm and for the Jay McDaniel Band also.

Alien Love Charm plays tonight, Fri 3/8 at Preservation Pub on Mkt Sq in downtown Knoxville. We go on at midnight, Royal Hounds are the opening band at 10.

EVERYBODY ROCK.

LOCAL KNOXVILLE MUSIC FESTIVAL IN LATE APRIL!!!

This is the second year for Fort Sander's Fest, a local musical festival started by college students living in Fort Sander's, a neighborhood which sits adjacent to the University of Tennessee. I highly recommend coming out to this and supporting young, original artists and musicians from the Knoxville city area. My band, Tame the Hurricane, will be playing, as well as other local favorites The Theorizt, Grandpa's Stash, Marina Orchestra, The Blue Heavy, Johnny Astro and the Big Bang, and many others. Here's their first promo for this year's lineup entitled, "The Dream."

Gonna part with my WTDI. Loved it, but I'm just not a knob tweaker at this stage. If anyone wants it, send me a PM, I'm going to list it in effects in about thirty minutes. 110 shipped.
Thanks,
Jeff

Say it ain't so, Jeff!! Wouldn't want to be without mine. I use it weekly for band rehearsal (we rehearse through headphones, even an electric drum kit), recording, and as a DI @ church. Someone snap this up and just maybe the rollermeister will deliver it in person at the GTG!

Good luck on the sale, Jeff. I'd be interested in the WTDI had I not recently purchased a Zoom B3.

I have an incoming Genz Shuttle 12T cab to match the Shuttle 6.2-12T combo I picked up in December, so I will have Ed Friedland's favorite gig rig together at last. I had to lurk around for a while to get a good price on these pieces, as they list for something like $1600. I'm just over $1100.

Jeff's posting that he's selling his WTDI made me associate that he had been interested in my Dr.Bass super stack- the DRB1260 slant and sub with 3012LF's. Those of you at the last get-together will remember I had them there with the Streamliner head. I think both Ethan and Neal played the stack and liked it. I got to stand way back in the sanctuary and listen to some very gifted playing and the huge tone.

When Jeff got out of gigging last year, he decided he didn't need more cabs, so I still have them. They are wonderful, but I don't think I need to keep them with this Shuttle stack, which will be just right for what I'm playing. So.. I'll follow Jeff's lead on his WTDI and ask if any of the ETTB gang would be interested in these cabs. I'll eventually get around to doing a proper TB listing for them, but would love to sell them locally.

If I do end up getting to come to the Morristown GTG next month, I'll bring both of them for everyone's viewing and playing pleasure.

Sorry guys, missed the post.

Alright, My main rig is settled. 3000 watts of glorious headroom in a total package under 100 pounds.

Dingwall Super J5 Standard.

2013 Fender 63 NAV P in Sonic Blue

Reiner Amplification 6SL7 Pre

Carvin DCM 3000L

BNA Audio Greenboy Dually (loaded with Faital PF400's)

On the Pedal Board

Line 6 g50, Aguilar Tone Hammer, Way Huge Swollen Pickle (will likely be sold prior to event), and my tuner of death.

I will also bring a BNA Audio Greenboy F115 (3 way) and probably the new crate top Grove 51 P custom.

I also have a Streamliner 900 if anyone has yet to hear one, And a brand new in box Hartke Kilo which may or may not be gone prior to the event.

I would also be willing to bring my 1967 Ampeg B-15N Portaflex if everyone promises to handle like the Dead Sea Scrolls. Yes you can jump all over the volume. Just no Pete Townsands. She ain't pretty but this amp is the godfather of great tube sound, and every bass player must fondle one at least once in their lifetime.
