easy songs!

The key to learning the Blues and most classic rock tunes is understanding the 12 bar 1-4-5 pattern, i.e. in A A/A/A/A D/D/A/A E/D/A/A
This is the foundation of a majority of popular music.
Like: Rock & Roll-Led zeppelin
Call Me The Breeze-Lynyrd Skynyrd
Mustang Sally-Wilson Pickett
Red House-Hendrix
Knockin' On Heaven's Door-Dylan
These are also easy
Hey Joe and Foxy Lady-Jimi Hendrix
Feel Like Makin' Love-Bad Co
Gloria-Them
Break Down and Runnin' Down a Dream-Tom Petty

LaGrange-ZZ Top

Weezer songs in general, like Island in the Sun, which is the same thing 2 bars repeated, excepted for an even easier 8-bar chorus.

I had to learn it at the drummer's request, was wondering why until he told me that's because he played it on Rockband (insert face plant icon).

paranoid - black sabbath
come as you are - nirvana
under the bridge - Chili Peppers

if you are into popping/slapping, chords, tapping, etc,
Groundhog's Day by Primus is pretty easy to learn -
only 3 different parts throughout the song, with minor
variations.

Hey thanks, I just picked up RHCP's Book and Under the bridge is one of my favorites. Can't wait to get off work and give it a whirl!

I love TB for the suggestions, and advise I find everywhere!

Mother - Danzig

easy as pie, here's the vid on youtube

disclaimer: just what I hear, I could be wrong on the tab

How about songs by The Beatles and The Police. I am not saying that their bass lines are easy, but if you study the styles of Paul McCartney and Sting you will learn tons about note placement and syncopation.
+1 I started with "so lonely" by the police, then "walking on the moon" next I tried Bob marley, "stir it up" is pretty easy. next I learned "London Calling" by the clash, Then NIB by sabbath. Now Im working on Opeth's Damnation album. I only got "hope leaves" so far Its the coolest song Ive done so far IMO. But Ive never had a lesson and trying to learn by book and internet and those are the songs I can play without looking up the tabs again. I started a year ago, but I only practice about once a week for 20 minutes...if that there are sometimes months that go by where I dont even touch it or think about it.

Just a correction: Sat It Ain't So is in Rock Band, not Island in the Sun (and don't dis the game. It got me to get off my butt and finally go out and learn bass. It can also help your voacalist memorize songs :D )
