eBay $20 or less new Bass purchase status poll

I've been using Rotosound RB35's on my $35 Burlywood Burning Fire.Thay sound like good regular rounds & not like the Swing Bass.Found them for $15.95.

No reply from my seller regarding when he/she will give me a tracking number for the bass that's supposed to deliver sometime today through next weekend. I guess it's looking more and more like refund time

Who is "my seller"?

The acoustic bass I ordered on eBay.ca has apparently been shipped. Tracking number looks legit and shows my country as destination. I was getting ready to request a refund. Seller is qianlei_7541. Shipping notice came from PayPal, not eBay.

I think it's clear to all that Daco was a scammer trying to cash in on the frenzy, and now his account is toast and everyone who bought from him will be refunded.

And I have been selling on eBay since about 1996, and my instincts tell me that "robhe" is very probably legit

And it seems my Blue "Robhe-P" is back in motion: (now in a shipping container, perhaps?)


Tracking number provided

I also received a valid tracking number from Daco. And it was even delivered yesterday. 450 miles away! Receiving a tracking number does not mean legit. Receiving an instrument does. We are all (I also placed an order with Robhe but from New Jersey) just waiting to see if an instrument arrives at our door.
and many of Robhe's tracking numbers from China are EMS which is a more expensive service (I use EMS for other things from Asia) which makes me suspicious.

total sales were both 198. Not good, as I bet eBay has some sort of flag when an item crosses 200 sales.

I think we've gotten a little spoiled with things like Amazon. Two day shipping, text messages with order updates.

Let's say this is legit for a moment, consider the number of emails this guy is probably getting from scared to death buyers looking for the pinpoint location of their item. I bet he doesn't even know where the stuff is, especially at this exact moment. In a container amongst a couple hundred thousand other containers in some 15 million person port city? Gigantic cargo ship somewhere in the Pacific? Who knows?

If this isn't legit, they can give you an exact location with ease!

As someone mentioned earlier, and bears repeating, the NJ packages are shipping USPS standard which does not have tracking numbers like priority does.

It's not unlikely that Robhe is pretty overwhelmed shipping his 198 bass guitars so I would expect some delay in answers from him. I have communicated with him successfully and it took 24 hours or so for him to respond.

I think applying for a refund is premature at this point.

Robhe is the only seller still around that sold the $18 basses, as far as I know. No one should be waiting it out to see if they need to request a refund from the guy who had his account suspended.

If he/she clicked the shipping notification in eBay, they should have access to some level of shipping details. Maybe there are a lot of emails, that's a fair point, but to say they just don't know where it might be is unrealistic if they are able to estimate that it's arriving within days or hours. When many of us bought, they were shipping out of NJ, allegedly, and the shipping notifications all point to arrival within about a week.

it's funny, this started out as a, "it's $18, i can risk it" to a, "it's been 2 days, where is my stuff?"
like others have said, if he is shipping them, give him some time. If you get it, great! if not, remember, it's only $18!

Upon closer inspection, the tracking number I was sent is for a package sent days before I even ordered. He went to the trouble of giving me a tracking number that was headed to my country, so that's something I suppose.
