Ebay charging sales tax now too...

I saw the thread about Sweetwater charging tax. I just did two small parts orders on ebay and got charged sales tax there too. I also bought new tires for my Dodge truck from Tire Rack and also got taxed. End of an era...
Oh well, I'm glad I got my big gear purchases out of the way before.

That’s been going on for years, depending on the seller. I’ve been charged tax by all the Guitar Center faux-storefronts on EBay—-Musician’s Friend, Music 123, Woodwind Brass, for new stuff.

There are still some specialty shops out there who dont charge sales tax, I bought a new bass from some "club" in the "Chicago" area, and another from some "place" in the great state of AZ last week, neither collected any tax...stay away from the chains, there are still some guys out there who work with you.

Right Guitar Center has always charged tax. They've always said if you lived in a State that has a GC store and your state has tax, then they were required to charge it even though you buy from an out of State store.
