Well, the seller has 5 feedback ratings, 80% positive. I am surprised you decided to buy from him.
That negative review wasn't there before I bought the guitar.. (its from June 6th). Also, I had good communication with the seller before the purchase, and thought the person sounded legit, and they've had their account for a while.

Not a new scam. I got burned on an R/C race car engine. It was listed on eBay as still needing break in time and the photos looked like a new engine, so I bought it. When it arrived it was a worn out POS that looked like it had seen combat. I figured the guy accidentally sent the wrong engine so I sent photos and since it was worn out I asked if he wanted it back. He said send it back and he’d refund me once he had it back. It was before paypal so no recourse except eBay and even back then they favored the seller. LSS he was not obligated to refund until I provided proof the item was shipped and if he refused to refund once it shipped the most eBay would do was suspend his account, so I kept the doorstop he sent me to save some other sucker from getting burned.
Sorry to see not much has changed.

Yeah, all those background pics should have told me way more.. the clues are so much clearer in retrospect. I don't know what I was thinking. BUT, I really never thought a person would just straight up try something this crazy. Like what were they expecting?
The guitar pics were pretty clear. It WAS nice. I can't even begin to imagine what could have happened to do THAT to a finish. Fingerpaint project with mineral spirits and primer?

If I had to make a story up, it would probably follow something like this:
Dude is sitting around, depressed that he lives in a putrid sty, looks for something to release him from the terrible reality, finds some old airplane stripper and starts huffing it. He accidentally spills some stripper on the guitar, panics and starts trying to scrape it off but it only makes the situation worse pushing the extra finish all into the f holes. He takes all the knobs off, thinking he can refinish it but only succeeds at rubbing the smell of the place deeper into the guitar. He debates whether anyone will notice but is too high to realize the guitar is now completely F'd. He then finds the nearest pos thin box and cuts it to the size of the guitar, thinks maybe it needs some padding in there, or something to soak up the rank cigarette smell, throws in a rolled up newspaper, thinks, OK, that's good, let me ship this beauty out, it's fine.

So, I just bought this guitar..
Epiphone XL Custom WildKat Original Certified Epiphone $350.00 OBO. Final Day MO | eBay

Looked like this:

And was described like this:
This beautiful work of art plays like a dream and Sure to turn heads and bend ears wherever you go. Perhaps the finest Guitar I have ever played. A real joy to play. Action is so smooth. And the frets are perfect. The whole guitar is perfect with out any issues. Super Nice. And Sharp.

I've owned a Wildkat before. I thought I knew what I was getting..

What I got:

And the most disgusting poopie covered case and terrible ashtray smells ever. I can't even store this train wreck in my house tonight. It has to be in the basement. It nearly made me puke!

So, off to Reverb to find a better Wildkat.. unless someone here has one they want to part with.. ha.
Looks like you need the Ghostbusterso_O
