eBay Ripoff

Not to mention the neck has a vintage tint job gone horribly wrong. Normally these would get a slightly darker golden-brown hue, whereas this one's just brown.

Also, did anyone notice the actual finish on the back of the neck is flawless, whereas the paint is near rubbed off the back of the body (by an orbital sander I'm guessing)?

Would the neckplate have an "F" on the '64?

The neck finish is original reissue finish. The neck plate should be an "L", but I have several fake "L" plates.

It amazes me sometimes how blinded people can get though....Look at the corrosion on the tuners, the bridge, the strap lock, screws and even the pickups, and then look at the neck plate, a piece that the seller mentions as establishing the age of the bass and it is shiny as hell. Doesn't even look like it has many surface scratches either, which is extremely suspect given the wear on the body.

Do you fly?

No, I just work with planes every day so I recognized your ID as a tail number. I wish I had time to fly though....

The terms look the same from both listings. This paragraph for sure:

4. Ask all questions BEFORE you bid. Again, if you bid and win, you have bought the bass guitar. I am not the first owner, I sell it in the same condition as when I bought it. Please make sure that you have verify all the pics that I included here... and make sure that you have VERIFY EVERY PART of this bass guitar BEFORE you make a bid! I SELL THIS AS IS, WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO RETURNS. NO REFUND! I CANT GUARANTEE IF EVERYTHING IS ORIGINAL! IF YOU DO NOT WANT (OR NOT SURE WITH) THE ITEM, DO NOT BID ON IT. Please ask all the question BEFORE you make a bid.
Can't say for sure but this might be the same seller we were talking about a while back on this thread.

The MO is the same fake old bass scam.

Keep Low :)

I doubt it does any good but at the bottom of listings they have a 'report this item' link. If you know your stuff and see one of these listings you could try to head 'em off as I assume Ebay would rather not deal in these transactions. Maybe you could even still head it off if you hurry!:help:
