You say that like it was 2 separate incidents. Like they won an auction, got a picture of a phone, and figured, what the hell, let's do it again. They won both auctions at the same time. They won auctions from the same seller to combine shipping. Sure, they got screwed, but it wasn't 'on two occasions.'

Judge Judy is a TV judge , not to be confused with our real legal system , at best she makes a mockery of it and I hope the rest of society knows it really isn't like this in the United States courts.

What about the judge at the trial over A.N.S body. He played it up for the cameras and was not a TV judge (yet).

She was a real judge at one point and her attitude seems to come across like she has always been like that.

I appreciate fully that not all Judges are like that but some are. Oh and BTW I am not picking on your judges or legal system. A judge here in the UK tried to let off a convicted child molestor because the jails are overcrowded. That is soo much worse than the attitude of Judge Judy.

Ok, not two occasions, but it was two incidences, there were two phones being bought and neither time did they have the brains to attempt and read the whole auction.

I agreed with the original post ,

I wanted to make it clear that JJ is not a good representation of our system , at all , not even close .

I was involved in a civil trial once that lasted 40 + hours over 5 days , and the first thing I was told by my lawyer was
" Forget everything you have seen on TV" . He was right it's not even close.

I just want the rest of the world to understand it's not a good example of our system.

I see how we are mocked , laughed at , thought of as uncouth and lazy , sloppy and lacking manners .No need to fuel the fire. What you see on Jerry Springer and Judge Judy represents a minuscule % of the American public

To add and stay on topic , Scamming this way is crap .
If I started selling pics of bass gear here I would be blasted by the members and I am sure banned from this site, even if I spelled it out .

The scammed is somewhat at fault but the scammer knows they are going to defraud / trick someone .

It may be technically and legaly correct.


Morally and ethically it is dead wrong.

I fully understand that. We have some shows over here of the same style. Talk shows that get some absolute numpty on just because they are stupid enough to air their laundry in public. The people on these talk shows must have something missing upstairs to decide to go on TV with their problems. I wouldnt be small minded enough to think that all people from Manchester are thick as Pig-**** just because I saw Toasted on Trisha one day ;) :ninja: So I certainly wouldnt do it for the whole of America never mind 1 state.

The scammer deserved all she got. The Scamee should still have admitted she was daft to actually buy anything without reading the small print.

The really sad part is the complainant received a judgment for $5000 that has no force of law to be collected. It is up to the complainant to find a way to collect the monies, and I bet that lady will not be very cooperative. :hmm: 80% of all judgments go uncollected!

No. Wrong. They refer to it as "a forum". Read the fine print presented at the end of the actual TV show (I have frozen the screen and read it). The participants give up their rights, and agree to the arbitration put forth by "Judge Judy" in this "forum".

She is, however, a legitimate former magistrate (Judge).

Where she screwed herself was by saying the phones weighed 4.9 ounces. The package she received didn't weight that, thus didn't meet the description.
