ebay sale #170414696757
This sale is for an Aggie GS 212 cabinet.
I purchased this cabinet from talkbass member ryanjeffery this past summer. This cabinet was damaged in shipping and I refused the shipement and had it sent back to shipper.
Got the run-around from ryan for just long enough to not be able to dispute the claim through paypal.
Lots of concern and promises from him, but no action.
This cabinet is now on ebay for sale.

If you plan on bidding or purchasing this cabinet and would like some insight on my experience with this guy (he is relient52 on ebay) you may call me on my cell 318-560-6546.

Peace and Merry Christmas,
Robbie

Moderators, if I have posted this in the wrong place, please move it were it may help a fellow bassist.

thanks,,, thats why I never go near Ebay anymore I've been burnt a few times with less than desirable merchandise I've bought from there ---> my stingray bass had a non-ernieball pickup and the EQ didnt work because the installer didn't know how to wire it which nothign was ever mentioned ,,,, cost me another 350.00 to get it right,,,, I learned the hard way that Ernie ball will NOT sell you a pickup, never for any price so I over paid someone for theirs.

I shop only TB and CL and Local stuff now.

again nice to have the warning about ebay.

I want to bump this to keep it on the radar- also to say the OP is very well-worded, concise & to the point. It's got to be aggravating to be taken this way & difficult not to just vent, but this is so much more useful in steering others clear of this *seller*

update, This cab is now for sale again, under Ebay sale # 170414911557

Seller is (relient52)

And yes, buyer beware.

If it matters, I have sent him a message through Ebay before he changed his listing, just to see if he would speak with me and what he might have to say. He has not replied.

Peace,
Robbie

Well done Robbie.
It's this kind of support from the community that will help flush out the weasels.
With enough complaints the guy can get his IP addressed blacklisted by eBay; saw it happen a few times with vintage bike sales but in reality eBay doesn't really care.

For what it's worth, I have filed a complaint with Ebay under the contention that I am still the rightfull owner of that cabinet.
I never recieved a refund of the purchase price.

Buyer beware, when the cabinet arrived at my house it was damaged.

The damage that i could verify was on the bottom of the cabinet, the casters (all four) had been left in in cabinet during shipping, the cabinet had been dropped (or set down with extreme prejudice) and only one caster remained. The delivery driver was in a hurry and took the cab back to his truck as soon as I refused to accept, so I was unable to inspect the entire cab,

What I was able to see was that two of the caster sockets had broken through the wood and up into the cabinet. One caster was still in it's socket and one pole from another caster still remained in it's socket.

My point in saying "Buyer Beware" is not to be snarky, it's to remind folks that Ebay is a risk - I've had pretty good luck on it, but I've also been burned a few times. I learned long ago that a deal that seems "too good to be true" likely IS too good to be true.

On a side note: I bought the same cab - an Aggie GS212 from a fellow on the TB forums and I couldn't be happier - - good deal, great condition, great cab. Perhaps you might shop here next time...

Hey bigolharry,
No offense taken, I myself have had very good luck on ebay as well.
My transaction with ryanjeffery on this cab was my second deal here on talkbass.
First one went smooth as silk. I don't blame any site, this one or ebay, it's the person on the other end who did the wrong thing.

I have not seen this guy sign back on to TB since our deal.

Peace,
Robbie

I bought an Acme cabinet on this board that was complete trash; looked good but the speakers (which may not have been original) were not capable of putting out any reasonable SPL and did not have the tone they are known for (tried it with an SVT, SM400, and Yamaha pre with 1,000 watt amp)
Owner said he bought it and didn't really try it
He did say his bass teacher "didn't think it had enough booty"
Cost me $50 to ship it back to him

Don't fool yourself into thinking that it's just eBay with bad sellers
