This is only one pound lighter than my Fender jazz bass but it feels like more than that. Wish I had a scale.
Anyway what a beauty, I love it.

Yeah! Have the exact same! I thought there’d be more Classic Natural 4H’ers, so happy to see this!I have not posted in many years but my excitement over the EBMM Stingray Special has motivated me to give a shout out to the good people at Music Man for their ingenuity and bravery in redesigning this classic bass! I no longer own (wish I did), my 79 MM Sabre bass and my 97 EBMM Stingray5. I particularly miss the Stingray5 and have been waiting for the right time to replace it. That time is here! Although not a 5, I went with the classic natural because it reminds me of that old Louis Johnson instructional video and I always thought that bass was ridiculously cool.
I love the whole redesign! 8lbs. 3oz. Neck is unbelievable with zero neck dive. The eq just seems to be more user-friendly not to take away from the old but these days I think it fits my style a little better. I’ll be playing it at our jam tonight and looking forward to how it sits in the mix. I have a feeling it’s going to be really good. Anyway, a couple of photos from Sweetwater. Thanks to Corey over at SW for working with me mostly on weight. Happy playing!

Every single 5 string Stingray ever AFAIK. I’m a 4 string guy but that seems to be the same on every 5 string RayJust set this nice bass up for a client, but curious about the G string being rather close to the fret board edge. Do any other 5 string Ray owners have the same? View attachment 3349172
This looks like the neck is set wrong in the pocket. Could just be the camera angle.

In the long shot, you can see the change in position of the A-string from the first dot to the last. It also looks like the A-string is not centered on the truss-rod wheel. I’d loosen the neck screws and see if it can be moved any to correct this.shot straight down on purpose.

But the G-string slipping off the neck, that can be an EBMM issue. Probably a bigger problem with a mis-aligned neck. Normally, adjusting one’s technique overcomes the issue, but in this case... who knows.
Here’s my Special as an example where the A-string carries the same position through all the dots and is centered on the truss-rod wheel (and pickup poles):

Thanks for all that. yes I see what you mean about the long shot, definitely a slant going on there. I'll try loosening the neck and see what changes and let my client know about the issue. If this does not resolve, should he contact Sweetwater or EBMM directly?
It qualifies as awesome but not as a Special.Does aView attachment 3349309 2000 Pearl Lavender qualify?
