EBMM StingRay Special Club

It’s “color 230” which is Retro Red Tortoise. not the nicest tort I’ve ever seen, but it’s not a cheap printed tort either. I’m going to get a black pearl as soon as they’re back in stock and I’ll see which one I like best.

I ordered that one too last year. That's when their red tort stopped being printed PVC and they started using actual celluloid. I wasn't crazy about the looks though. WD's was slightly better looking, but still, modern tort is modern tort - pepperoni, brownish, bleh. Celluloid tort nowadays just doesn't look nearly as good as it did in the 60s.

Looking at your profile pic, that looks like a Spitfire tort there. Either that or an actual 60s one. If it is indeed, Spitfire, than you already know the answer to "the only good looking tort that you can get nowadays".

Unfortunately, that profile pic is not a bass of mine. I cropped it from a picture of a sweet J Bass. Spitfire is amazing stuff, but you gotta shell out the big bucks for it.

I like it pretty well, mainly got it for use with my Rics but it works well. They make a smaller version of it now that isnt rack mount and a pedal called the YYZ that works well. The Dug Pinnick one sounds awesome too.

Yeah I was thinking of getting a rack preamp for tracking at home and both the dug pinnick and geddy lee are on my radar.

Picked up my SS back in January. Love the finish, feel and sound. Adjusting to a 5 string has been tough but im slowly getting the hang of it!

Scored a stingray special with a SLO neck in orange crush finish! (1 of 5)
The neck is super comfortable and the finish is to die for. I never really cared for sparkle finishes, but this orange... Wow!
This is definitely the best playing and looking bass I have owned. (And I have been through many)
My goodness! That is nice.

Stunning! MusicMan really know how to make a bass sparkle in style! And great wood grain on the fretboard, too!

Nice score, I had been looking at that bass when it was in the vault but noticed it wasn't listed a few days ago when I checked. It's a beaut.
