Yeah I have a gloss sparkle finish as well and TBH I love how they made them so "tastefully sparkly." That purple might not sparkle like crazy outside but that gold hardware pops out nicely on stage

Great tone, light weight, plays easy, liking it so far! Still have the stock strings on it and will likely try DR Fat Beams next.

These are very BLUETIFUL!!! I love they way the color flips from blue to purple.

Nice! That particular BFR is beautiful. I almost got one last year but went with a different SR5 in the store after going back and forth between the 2 for about an hour. It was a difficult decision to make though.
Must be nice to live near a store that has even one SR5 in stock, and a BFR at that! All I ever see locally is SBMM.
It’s a blessing and a curse. I live 15 mins from Bass Central. I have to force myself to stay out of that shop.

I bought these 2 within the past year.
To be fair, it is about a 1.5 hour drive to that particular store which happens to be in Toronto and is apparently the biggest music instrument retailer in Canada and one of the biggest in the world. My local stores don't usually stock much more than Squier, Fender, & Ibanez.
Cosmo Music happened to have 2 BFR SR5's; the Kinetic Blue and a Ginger Burst and I ended up taking the Ginger Burst home.
Another beautiful sparkling finish. With an aged cream pearl pickguard it would look like a root beer float.

Wow!! The neck and headstock sparkle are a nice touch. Does the neck get sticky? I did not care of the painted neck on my USA SUB.
Im not a big fan of brown but man that bass reminds me of a tall sparkling glade of DR. Pepper on hot summer day!!

Awesome, didn't realize the back of the neck was painted the same way! But it's a BFR, so I guess that's one of those special touches that those reserve basses get.

No, I don't find it to get sticky which was a bit of a worry for me when I initially went to try it out. I've had that issue with other brands with glossy necks but I don't find it to be an issue with EBMM basses that I've had. My Bongo is the same way and doesn't feel sticky. Same goes for my fretless SR Special which has a glossy neck.
