I still say black is the way to go, but dayum that tort looks really good too.LOL. I know tort's not for everyone and it's a topic that's nearly as divisive as political left/right, so I don't push it. But there's a reason why that's the one of the three that I chose to use on that bass.![]()
Has anyone seen several Frost pearl Green SRSpecials in person? Have one on order and in anticipation ive been checking out some different images and whatnot online and im starting to get a bit nervous about the consistancy of the finish as some look to be like the image on the official site- A dark green fading into a lighter green gradient towars the center, then some others which look like its basically greenburst where its black paint around the border. Is this just a lighting thing or is it really this hit and miss?! Like if its not lighting they are literally loading the airbrush with black instead of green lol, seems like a pretty major oversight. Im really not going to be too thrilled if i open the case to a black border burst.

FWIW, I think Frost Pearl Green has a completely different vibe when you ditch the black pickguard.

I ordered a replacement pickguard from EB the same day I ordered the bass from SW. The black guard just wasn't for me. I was on the fence about the color when looking at it online, but I really like it in person.Yeah, that's a solid difference! EBMM should provide us with a pickguard exhange program, lol. Their oem options don't always seem like the best fit.

Plus, I like that EB isn't afraid to do some unusual burst colors in general. I also have an Autumn Redburst that is exceptional. If you don't know about this color, you're missing out!
I've considered a white pearloid or even a black pearloid pickguard for my Frost Pearl Green Special. Still thinking about it.Wow, it really does. With the black pickguard, it seems to highlight the black/dark outer edges of the body. But the white pickguard instead highlights the green inner coloring much better.
I suspect a white pearl pickguard might look even better!

(but I'll be damned if I'm gonna try to take a pic of it again!…,)
Right on! Love that!!Black pearloid looks nice with green in my opinion. I have it on my cutlass which originally had a white pickguard:

Well, at least try to type out a REALLY good description of how it looks?I've considered a white pearloid or even a black pearloid pickguard for my Frost Pearl Green Special. Still thinking about it.

I used to have a 4H Honeyburst. They are similar. This has more red and is far more striking when you see it.Yum! Almost like a metallic version of their now-discontinued honeyburst.
The white pickup cover on the white pickguard is a nice touch. Looks better that way (and with the white tip for the pickup switch).
I was really tempted by the Autumn Redburst when it came out. Fabulous color scheme.I ordered a replacement pickguard from EB the same day I ordered the bass from SW. The black guard just wasn't for me. I was on the fence about the color when looking at it online, but I really like it in person.

What an absolute beauty.
