EBMM StingRay Special Club

It’s weird because I’ve always preferred jazz width necks but the neck on these SRS basses just feels right.

I think I said before, but it’s just like in shape though slightly larger than my favourite Jazz bass neck. I have an Aerodyne, which is definitely both wider and fuller than many other J’s I’ve had, the SS is like a very very slightly oversized version of that. Excellent in hand.

STOP TORMENTING ME!!!
I feel your pain, I remember being 17 and seeing a local band, the bassist had 2 Rays on stage and I thought “how the @&#% has he got TWO of those, I’d love just one!”.

But I got lucky, a year later the music shop I worked in got in a used but new 94 Ray and the boss gave me a great deal and payment plan.

Good luck getting one, shame they are so expensive these days, but at least very much worth it in the end.

Finally some sun for me to get a pic of my new pickguard and straps.

Looks great! What is Jackyl?

Man you guys look great on stage @pbass6811 !! And the bass contributes very nicely to the vibe.

As others have noted, you and that bass look awesome! Bet it sounds great too.

I've have been ridiculously busy these last few days, but I've got some free moments tonight. I haven't really been on TB too much the last few days, so I'm getting back into my routine. I really want to say thank you to all of you awesome peeps for the kind words. I'm always surprised whenever anyone wants to take my picture. I always figure any pics of me will end up on "uglypeoplewhoplaybass.com", lol! So, thanks, I appreciate the kindness.

I'm changing strings before this weekend's festivities. I got some regular Slinkys, since I couldn't find a matching set of Super Slinkys(thanks, GC). I usually buy my strings from BSO, but I got a gift card for GC for my last bday, so... Looks like I start my string quest again. I've been using Dunlop Super Brights on my F Basses, and I'll be going back to Paysons when my Dingwalls show up, but I wanted to try a few different brands on my SRS's. I like the Slinkys that came on them, so I'm gonna start there, but they did die pretty quickly. I dunno how long they were on the basses before I got them, but they're pretty dead after a couple of weeks(I have been playing a bunch though...).

I may have settled on a setting-Bridge pickup only, slight bass & treble boost, significant mid cut. I'll know more this weekend.

Finally some sun for me to get a pic of my new pickguard and straps.
