8.9 lbs!! I have big plans for this bass. Stay tuned.
My clear pickguard is ordered. Have to wait for it to be made and shipped.
Will post pics once it’s here and installed. I’ll figure out how to cover the route space for the electronics . I have a few ideas. :bookworm:

I saw the one in the classifieds. I told the seller I'd take it.
My wife approved it and everything. Seller changed his mind and sold a different Sting Ray instead.
His price was insane!!!!
His pictures are MUCH darker then Sweetwater's pictures.
But I love that color(darker). I'm going to talk to the Head of Household Finances tonight about letting me spend a few hundred extra to get a NEW, new one.
I've bough several basses lately, but find myself obsessed with this Ocean Sparkle.
And have been wanting a SR for several weeks badly

Hey everyone. First time stingray owner here and could not pass on the grape crush. Love it so far. I had a question about the 9v latches. I tried to open them with a pick and they literally ripped off instantly (little top part tab). They won’t close flush now (see pic) Anyone have a fix for this?

Oh man that finish is superb!

I would reach out to EBMM customer service and have them send a replacement box, and see if they will cover the labor if you aren't comfortable doing yourself.

These battery boxes are the only thing I don't like about Stingrays! They are flimsy

Wow, that looks great. If I didn't already have a purple-ish bass I would definitely grab one - actually, I still might. I've never had a problem with the battery boxes being flimsy on any of my SR's but I always use a coin to open them if my fingernail doesn't work. Usually the first time opening it seems to be the most stiff. After that they're usually fine in my experience but maybe I'm just lucky.

Loved the finishes this year I think most will look better in person.

I did reach out to them today just waiting to hear back. I’m sure they’d send a new box they’re pretty inexpensive, just wanted to see if there was any other option. I guess I’ll just have to be super careful with it.

Probably not.

The tab that has broken off has most likely allowed the rest of the release tab to slip behind the border of the box. If not, you might be able to release the latch with a small screwdriver.

Might as well replace the box. Maybe order a second box. Those boxes are quite flimsy. If it weren’t for the quick-change feature, I’d simply remove the compartment and outfit it for a simple screw down cover and the usual clip-on battery connections for the batteries.
