EBMM StingRay Special Club

Any one else notice that it is slim pickings on basses in the Vault right now?

I guess they are busy making Design Experience orders. :)

The big question is “ When will the harvest orange go away?” Seems like it is a very unpopular finish.

They sell pretty well at harvest time :D. As Pet Sounds alluded to, the name can sell a bass. If they called it Halloween Spooky Sparkle there would be a waiting list.

I used my Special for all four sets on Saturday night and loved it. I brought my Sire Jazz just to give it some gig time, thinking I'd play each for two sets. But, this was a small enough room that our sound guy decided not to use the sub so that meant he didn't put me in the PA and my bass and amp had to carry the room. So I used the Special for the entire night so I could boost the highs and mids when I needed to be heard better rather than turn up the volume. Worked out nicely.

Also, I usually set up out front with our LS/BL because I do backing vocals and some lead vocals. But, beacuse of the shape of the stage setup, I ended up on a pretty high riser right next to our drummer. That actually worked out well because our regular drummer is recovering from a health issue and we had a sub, so I was able to help cue him easily that way. But it also made my bass easily visible to the entire bar all night. :D

I LOVE this thing!
I’m thinking a Tort guard though and maybe white pickup covers.

Good call, I forgot about those anniversary basses with that colour combo. I used to have a passive Ray with a white pickup that I thought looked cool but I didn't think it would work as well as it did:

I love it as is. Maybe the white pickups but I feel like white pickup covers and tort would be a lot going on. I could be wrong though?
White pickups are like gold hardware to me.. they don’t work with everything like black and chrome do, but in the right combo, they look amazing. I think it’d look good with tort.

I’m a big tort lover and think that would look great. But I also think white covers would look even better on the white pickguard.

… and better still on a white pearl pickguard! ;)

Nice looking bass, congrats, :bassist:

I love white pickup covers against black pickguards on 4 string StingRays. Especially white and natural ash. My goal is to get this look on my Short Scale active model.

All of this butter cream goodness is making me crave birthday cake!!! I can wait 4 more days .:p
Happy 'early' Bday!
