The only negative I can give you is that the Old Smootie isn't a basic, standard, run-of-the-mill Stingray (in some ways it is, but ...), it's its own thing, so refinishing it like that might devalue it on the market. But, if you really have no plans to ever sell it, then what's the harm?
On the other hand, if you ever do sell it, for the rest of its life it will be known as your bass, with proof easily traced back to the Talkbass threads and posts it will spawn, because who is more likely to refinish a Stingray in Tiffany Blue than YOU?!
What about this idea ... Tiffany Blue Sparkle? On one hand, what could be more you? But, on the other hand, Tiffany Blue is also its own thing, so would a sparkle version be not quite the same (not as good as?) the classic, trademarked (yes, it's now trademarked) Tiffany Blue? Curious to hear your thoughts on that.
