And if you ever feel like changing it up a bit, a black guard looks great on the Burnt Ends! This pic was before i put it on and removed the plastic. Looks much better without the plastic...

I seem to be saying “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but ..” in this thread a lot these days, but ….

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I, one of the biggest tort fans on TB, agree with you. The black does look better. Nothing wrong with the tort, but the black works.

:D Dave, I'm right there with you! I'm a tort lover from WAY back. But I think I like the black guard on this particular bass even better (even though both look good IMO). One of the trios I jam with have mixed opinions. One prefers the tort and the other the black. I currently have the tort on it, but I think I'm gonna' go back to the black. (I've never asked the guys in the other trio, but one of these days I will.)

And that's a four string, so changing puckguards is trivial. You can use the black for one group and the tort for the other and make everybody happy, including yourself. ;)

This arrived today. Took it straight to band practice without even opening the bag, I was in such a rush… :D What better way to test it though!

I really like it, more than my Aqua Sparkle 4H. As many have mentioned, the G string is a little close to the edge of the fretboard, but if I watch my technique, it’s not an issue.

I will test it some more, but I think it’s a keeper. The kiwi finish looks even better in person, has a slight sparkle.

If anyone in Europe wants an Aqua Sparkle 4H in great condition, mine is very likely going up for sale soon!

SPARKLES!!!! 🥳 :hyper::woot:. That 4H will make a great backup & get the job done when you just need a good solid 4 string.

I'm leaning toward black on both. Black was standard on the Raspberry Burst. The Burnt Ends came with tort, but I bought a black one for it from Ernie Ball.

Great looking bass!

That’s a nice rig you’re playing it through, too. I absolutely love my D800+ head, it’s every bit as versatile as a Special. :bassist:
