EBMM StingRay Special Club

Just received my 2nd Special HH late yesterday. I got my 2023 Burnt Ends HH earlier this year. I love it so much I snagged a used Raspberry Burst HH from another TB'er. Not sure what year the Raspberry one is. I THINK a 2019 or 2020. I have to research that. Here are pics of the new one and of both of them.

Oh, I also have a question for all of you people who are technologically proficient (unlike myself): When I posted the above pics, I no longer get an option to post them as larger pics. Has the new format done away with that option, or am I just too ignorant to figure out how to do it?

With two of the same basses are you going to have different strings to get a different tone?

When I go to upload a photo, once it is uploaded and gives the option to insert it, literally clicking "Insert" will then drop down a menu between thumbnail and full image.

Gorgeous Rasberry 4HH, I almost went that color myself!

I'm thinking hard about that. The Raspberry Burst has rounds on it and the Burnt Ends has flats. The thing is that I'm such a died-in-the-wool flats guy that no matter how hard I try to keep rounds on a bass, I always end up changing them to flats.

So bottom line is that eventually, I'm sure I'll put flats on the Raspberry as well. About the only compromise I'll probably make is that I'll probably put on a different brand of flats than the ones on my Burnt Ends. :roflmao:

My flats of choice the last couple years have been DR Legends. That Burnt Ends HH has that sweet sound that just makes me smile. So I'll probably put LaBella DTF's on the Raspberry. I know that sounds ridiculous to most people (having two of the same bass), but I have a couple Jazzes and Precisions - all wearing flats. :smug: It's just the sound that I like.

I alternate my basses daily. So if I play out somewhere it'll probably come down to what color shirt I'm wearing... ;)

I feel that. I've had Cobalt flats on my P Bass for months now and love them. Debating putting the same set on the Ray... It sounds great with Slinkys but the Flats call... 😁

You can't buy a Stingray Special where I am (they're not imported into the country) and international shipping is prohibitively expensive. So when you have friends travelling to the States you might consider pulling the trigger on a new 5HH! Love my 5H (TB story here) but have been hankering for more flexibility. This is currently in Raleigh NC - my friends visiting from New Zealand will bring it home with them on the weekend

Pretty! :woot: Wow, those new Mono cases are well built. I forgot how much cushioning they have around the body.

That bass needs a sticker like those goofy tourist gift shop T-shirts - "My friend went to the USA and all he brought back for me is this bass guitar".
