I like the one with the Hot Honey (?) paint and the sparkly one with a black border. The others are not bad, but I would just play them all and see which feels best.

Hot honey (especially with that great grain pattern!) and black sparkle look stunning. Black/tort and blue/white look classic. I'm not crazy about the green one, but it probably looks ridiculously cool on stage.
Have fun trying them out!
@RSmith i have that exact kiwi green so that’s my pick. That being said, i like shiny and sparkly and that’s not everyone’s bag

My personal preference is the Hot Honey, but I could go for any of them except the Kiwi, with apologies to Todd Hamby!
I'd be equally or more concerned with the fretboard material and whether you prefer a 4H or 4HH.
If resale value is a concern, you may be best off sticking with the Hot Honey or black as opposed to sparkles and pastels, although they're maybe not as much fun.
PS -- Autocorrect kept wanting to change Hot Honey to "Hot Homey" on my tablet.
After playing my new Special for a few days I think I am really liking it. This is actually my fourth Special that I either returned or sold because I just didn’t completely love the tone. I mean they all sounded good but not amazing. This one for some reason seems more pleasing to my ears. Maybe it’s because it’s the first rosewood Special I have tried, the others were all maple. IDK.
Anyways still in the honeymoon period so anything can change but this one seems promising.

Maybe in the minority but I'd go for the Kiwi Green one! Mostly because I prefer ebony boards and I think for four string there's no reason to not go HH.
For 5 strings single H with the 3 way selector rules though
Based on looks alone i'd go black sparkle or hot honey
Play them all and see what feels best though

How does one get a Stingray with the Hot Honey? I didn’t see that finish in the Custom Biuild Experience. Is it a regular offering that one has to look for or order somehow?
I think that is one of the current stock finishes. So any dealer should be able to get it

I couldn’t resist. I actually had to remove the 2nd sentence I had typed because with a finish name like Hot Honey, this joke was beginning to sound a bit too lewd!!!

After spending some quality time with my Special 4H and BFR passive 4H from the 2020 Okume run.......comparing DR Rounds to La bella Low T Flats on both..... the 2 basses sound the same when the passive one is in parallel mode and the active one is set flat. This isn't surprising as they share the identical pup. I like the sound of rounds without using the onboard preamp, and the eq on the Special really works magic with the flats, so until further notice the active Special will wear flats and the passive Okume the rounds.
A great big WELCOME BACK is in order to you , the original club member # 2!!! ( Haha that rhymes).

Thank you! It’s been a while! Yes it’s Candyman. Previously the lightest bass I’ve ever owned was 8 pounds even. Can’t even imagine what 7 pounds is going to be like.
