EBS Classic 500 geography lesson

Back panel of EBS Classic 500 has "Designed and manufactured entirely in Sweden... " written above the speaker outputs on the back panel yet with" Made in China" at bottom right next to Line Out above the serial number. Do they know where their amps are made?

Wow, semantics. Love it!

In a global economy Sweden is technically a suburb of China.

And similar funny story, when Scott (bicycles and fitness) switched all manufacturing to China they changed the name to Scott USA for that same reason. And for what it's worth, that's a D*** move.

just in case you dont want to google it
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has defined the term "free range" only for chickens, not for [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] or for other livestock, such as cattle.

For chickens to be free range, the birds must be "allowed access to the outside," according to the USDA. In practice, this can mean the chickens live most of their lives outdoors, retreating to their coop only when weather or other factors require them to do so, or it can mean the chickens spend all their time in cramped, indoor pens that have a small door opened to the outside for just a few minutes each day.

Obviously, there's a huge difference between these two scenarios in terms of organic farming and humanely raised poultry, but either scenario meets the USDA definition.

Because the USDA rules for free-range products don't apply to other animals, or even to eggs, the free-range label on those goods is legally meaningless—producers can use the label in any way they want. Again, it can mean the animals spent most of their lives in wide, outdoor spaces, or it can mean they occasionally got a glimpse of the sun through a small door, but never went outside themselves.

"Designed and manufactured entirely by EBS Sweden AB" not "designed and manufactured entirely in Sweden... "

20+ years ago I worked for a company that was doing a private labeling of a product made overseas. The overseas company recommended they build & test the product, then disassemble and send to us in parts. Then we would reassemble and label "Made in USA". Fortunately we were able to convince our management that would be uncool, but I suspect it's not an uncommon practice.

Yes, but "entirely" does imply the whole thing from A to Z.
“EBS Sweden“ is not a place / location. I’m sure the amp is entirely designed and manufactured (the whole thing from A to Z) by “EBS Sweden” as printed on the amp. I’m also sure EBS Sweden has manufacturing facilities in China and China is clearly the place / location where the amp was made, as printed on the amp. I’m sure that “EBS Sweden“ knows China is the location where they built this amp.

The implication is that the amp is not "outsourced".

That is to say, they want you to know that this isn't some random amp built in china with an EBS label slapped on.

It's an entirely EBS designed amp, built to their specification in China

“EBS Sweden AB“ means “The EBS Sweden Company.” AB is the abbreviation for Aktiebolag which means it’s a stock company. In the U.K. the terms used are Ltd. or PLC, in the USA it’s corporation, abbreviated Corp. or Inc. The text on the amp reads, “Designed and manufactured entirely by EBS Sweden AB” meaning it’s manufactured by that company. The company may well have facilities anywhere in the world and no matter which country their plant is located in, it’s still manufactured by that company. The text reading “Made in China” says that the amp was built [in one of the company’s plants] in China. It’s all clear and in no way deceptive if you correctly read what’s written on the amp.
