EBS launching new micro amp - Reidmar

I have owned a Reidmar for nearly a week and I love it! It is a little dark sounding with everything set to neutral/zero, but it has a superb EQ that can adapt your tone quite nicely to different styles and instruments.

I've been using it with two Bergantino 1x12 cabs, and actually prefer it with a single cab as it is so damn loud with two! I am ordering an EBS Classic Line 112 this week as I really want to hear what all the European users are talking about with the matched voicing.

somebody could tell me how is the voltage on the reidmar? can be switched (internally or automatically like my tecamp) to 220v? thanks!

I got the answer from Ebs. there is a internal jumper that I need remove to use with 220v...

Sounds like a nice head, and your 'Marcus Miller' comment seems right on. The EBS heads (other than the Fafner) are really voiced to give you that 'modern scoop, sizzly top end'.

And, the difference between 250 watts and 500 is not so much volume, but rather having less compression and 'clamping' when you dig into those low notes. You really start to hear this in a mix when you really start digging in at the end of the night. Rarely will a head not be 'loud enough' these days, but lower powered heads will tend to clamp up a bit on the lower notes of the E through the B string. So, your description seems right on there also.
Of course, this impact gets greatly magnified if you are using a cab with a full, deep low end voicing that results in lower sensitivity. For example, my Acme 112 (4ohms) brings my F500 to its knees even at moderate volume, whereas I can knock walls down with that head and my high sensitivity 4ohm Berg AE410.

Sounds like a great head, and a nice way for those on a budget to experience the unique EBS tone!

I tried to discuss the clamping issue with the owner of Genz Benz when he was in Pa. at a bass store. I told him that my 6.0 would compress terribly by the end of the night when I played any note below my low E. He looked at me as if I had 12 heads, and said, you were probably suffering from ear fatigue, my amps don't do that. I tried to explain that I have other amps that don't do that, and just kept saying I had ear fatigue. I have never experienced that with my Epifani 501 nor my 902.

First post here. Great forum! Have been lurking around for some time.

Recently got the Reidmar head and a Neoline 112 cabinet for smaller gigs and ease of transport. Sounds great, very loud too. However, I really think the fan-noise is loud! Is this something you guys have experienced as well? I'm worried that there is something wrong with my amp.

Maybe I'm just paranoid being used to a dead-silent fan in my regular GK-setup.

Yes, there is a little fan noise in Reidmar, had mine since december and I think it's a very good amp for the money so I don't focus that much about the fan. You won't be able to hear it on a regular gig.

In the market for a new compact, but punchy amp.

I've had a HD350 before and I liked it. This sounds like a decent piece of kit.
