EBS launching new micro amp - Reidmar

The swedish bass gear company EBS launching a new product - the Reidmar micro head.
125W RMS @ 8 Ohms
250W RMS @ 4 Ohms
3,2 kg

Seems it will cost about €520 in Sweden.

Not yet in their homepage, but is included in the 2011/12 catalogue I got yesterday.

I have no affiliation with EBS.

In the catalogue, it is listed as part of the more traditional "Classic" range.
Still it has four band EQ with sweepable mid control, built in compressor, effects loop, XLR output etc.

Downsides would be that output power seems low (but is continuous power!) and the size of it - (14" / 36 cm wide).

Hmmm... looks relatively large, very low powered, relatively expensive. I'm sure it sounds good (front end looks quite a bit like the HD350).

Given the low cost of high quality class D/SMPS modules, why in the world would a company put out a head with this large of a footprint and that low of a power rating!?!

I found my EBS heads honestly rated, but not particularly loud per watt.

I bought this amp a week ago. Tried it out in the store with a 2x12 EBS neoline cab. A big smile on the guy in the store face when he plugged it in with my 75 jazz. He had not listened to it before, they had just got it. I also had my Unicorn Ozellman 5-string with me. I messed with it for half an hour with both basses and decided to buy it.
SOUND: This amp sounds great IMHO. With my 75 jazz, a little bass boost and rolling off the mids little at 600Khz and everything else at noon and off you go and you got the jazz bass tone. With my Fodera in single coil mode the jazz bass sound is huge.
This amp is definitely voiced but sounds more musical than the HD 350/TD 650 amps that I played from time to time. I have tried it out in my house for a week now and played it at gig volume. I have switched back and forth between the Reidmar and my Aggie Tonehammer 500 amp coupled to my 2 x Aggie SL 112 cabs.
The biggest difference between these amps is in the upper register. I can almost get the same sound from my Tonehammer but it lacks in the upper register comparing with Reidmar. I can get a much woodier tone with my jazz and the Reidmar and it´s is bigger in the bottom and highs.
VOLUME: Rated at 250W I was skeptical. But not so anymore. The loudest 250W amp I´ve came across and it´s enough for the gigs I have. I don´t know why EBS rates it at 250W with that headroom.
And I have no affiliation with EBS whatsoever.

How do you compare the headroom to the TH500?
