ebs reidmar 502

I recently got the Reidmar 750 and it is absolutely beastly. I do kinda wish it was 2 ohm capable but then again it's so damn loud that I don't think I would ever need two cabs for the types of gigs I play. It IS nice to know that it may be possible to mod it in the future if I shoud ever need the capability.

It was possible to do that to my HD 350 because they changed that exact same amp to be 2 ohm capable. But I don't know if they would ever have a conversion for the Reidmar.
Then again, the 502 is only 540 dollars. That is so reasonable. I have amps coming out of my ears and I still might get one.

Yeah it may not be possible with the 750, but then again I know pretty much DICK about the internal workings of an amp. :D

I fully agree on the price of the 502. You get a lot for that money, and I can just about guarantee you that EBS greatly underrates the power of these amps, maybe even by up to a couple hundred watts. I have a bassist friend that used a Reidmar 250 on a single 500w EA 15 cab and he said it had more than enough power, could fill up any room.

I've owned the 750 for four years now .
It's done at least 200 gigs. On two occasions I hooked it up to a 2.7 Ohm load. 210
Goliath II & 118 Bertha. I assumed the 210 was an 8ohm. Only later did I find out those came only in 4 Ohms. It didn't even flinch. I never put the Master past 2 though.....

According to Internet sources the 750 uses the same ICE module that that Aguilar AG700 uses. That's a 2 ohm head. Apparently EBS didn't go the extra mile making it 2ohm ready as Aguilar did.

Please don't hold me accountable if you try it and it blows up. I would never do it intentionally .

That site lost all credibility with this sentence:
"The EBS Reidmar 502 handles a 2-ohm load so it can drive two 4-ohm cabinets simultaneously. To our knowledge, it is the first lightweight amp in the 500W-range that truly does that. "

Except for Mesa and Darkglass who have been doing it for a few years, and Carvin who had been doing that for probably over 10 years.

Update, I have taken the 502 to several gigs now. I found a beautiful soft case for it and I really wanted it to work. In my house it sounds really good but I just can't get my sound with a band out of the thing.Marcus,Alex Al, John Pena, Slap and finger style.Too much high mids yes I can filter them out but then I can't boost the low mids. It's just harsh, almost piercing and dull at the same time. And the lows are too low and the amp does not punch. I can get a good tone out of many systems but this amp has me stumped. I have killer basses, nice cabs and I can play, but for the life of me every time i use this thing I walk away completely unsatisfied.
My HD350 sounds sooo much better. It was broken but now it's finally fixed so I tried both out side by side and there's no comparison.
Does anybody here want to buy one with a nice bag :)?
