EBS Titanium Strings?

Whoa, I've played nickel, steel, gold, tapewounds, coated strings, but titanium is a new one. Might have to try.

I've emailed every EBS dealer I could find regarding these strings. I tried to contact EBS directly, but I never heard back from them. Bass Central was trying to look into it for me, but I haven't heard from them in a while.

I really want to try these strings!

they're titanium nickel... i would imagine that there's about 1 titanium part for every 1,000,000 nickel parts... besides, is titanium musical? lord knows my golf clubs don't sound very good (of course, that probably has a lot more to do with me than their chemical makeup...)

My thought too when I realized it was "titanium nickel" which probably means just enough titanium for a name, as a marketing ploy.

Interestingly enough, nickel-silver (an alloy widely used to make frets) doesn't contain silver.

Believe me,titanium is corrosion resistaint,but it's not corrosion proof.You should see some of the jet engine pieces I repair every night! It does corrode.Whats strange about the EBS statement is they claim 'more mass". Titanium is lighter than steel,so it has to be a mix of nickle and titanium in the coating over steel windings.Might be worth looking into.

Green ones taste like peppermint.
Clear ones are just a gimmick.

They could be coated with titanium, usual procedure used on motorcoolers that utilize (sp?) saltwater as a coolingagent. And I would love the feel of titanium on a pair of strings, I have a ring made out of titanium and it's quite nice. And titanium isn't THAT expensive that wouldn't be impossible to coat the strings for a reasonable price.

Titanium isn't that hard, so I don't think it would wear out the frets more than steel...
