he wrote some good hits.....and you always knew they were his. They were always on my playlists rotation....... R.I.P Eddie.......Rock on forever!
Our band got a nice compliment from someone I know to be a critical listener last week at our gig. We have keys and bongos prerecorded with a click track and played Two Tickets to Paradise. This listener was in the room but thought we had finished the set and this was the dj's first song.

I met him in Hawaii in '87. I was 16 working as a bat boy for the Hawaii Islanders (AAA baseball) - Eddie was playing after the game. The new team owner was trying to bring fans to the ballpark (didn't not work as the team moved to Co Springs). During the game, Eddie was watching the game at the end of the tunnel next to the dugout with some band members, which is were I sat to pay attention to ump and retrieve foul balls to the backstop. Eddie was a nice guy and easy to talk to. I missed the umpire asking for new baseballs because I was chatting. When the ump came over to yell at me between innings, he saw who I was talking to and immediately turned fanboy. Lol! He gave me a pass for missing his request. Especially when I had Eddie sign a baseball for the ump and gave it to him after the game. I wish I was smart enough to ask him to sign a ball for me. I mean, there was an entire 5-gallon bucket of baseballs right next to me. Lol!

Thanks! After Hawaii I moved to Emerald Isle, NC. Love the OBX! Where in Easter NC are you? Back in the 80's I used to hang with Sidewinder, Lex Luther, Temtped, etc. Miss those days!!
I'm not too far from Greenville. My first show ever was opening for Sidewinder (during the Audley Freed days) at Icks in Roanoke Rapids. I know Lee who used to run sound for Lex Luther too.

Maybe not the best rendition, but hey Kevin Cronin is no spring chicken, he's 68 and still touring as REO's lead singer. I really like the "mix" and how well you can hear Kevin's acoustic guitar in it.
