Hey Rickenbackerman......I did a search, and read the thread all the way through. If you need to find it also, do a search for "cone crease". When you read the thread again, and check the poll, you will see that WAY more people report no problem than a problem.
That being said, I am quite sure that speaker cones DO crease when put through the extremes that were used in the tests.
I called it a "rumor" since it has been associated with Eden cabs, like they are the only ones that do it. I can see it now. In a matter of a few weeks, everyone will be of the opinion that Eden cabs will crease and blow speakers when you play them loud on a 5-string. Opinions expressed in this forum often are taken as fact. Has it happened? Yup, sure has. Does that mean we need to tell everyone with an Eden cab to turn down the volume and quit playing their 5-stringers through them? Nope. This is not a universal problem only with Eden cabs.
I suppose we could get into a pissing match about who plays louder, but I would rather not.
You play LOUD, so do I.
You have creased cones in your Eden, I do not.
