Eden D410XLT, now what?

Well. I just gave a good run and it sounds pretty good. I’m not sure about the crossover. When I turn the horn control I’m not hearing any change. I checked the limiter bulb, 4ohms of resistance. Should I check the voltage from the crossover to the horn?

Try playing some recorded music through it and then cover the horn. If the highs go away, then the horn is working. Perhaps your bass doesn't have enough highs to be able to hear much difference?

Not sure... the crossover may be different; Eden could tell you. IIRC, the tweeter operates from 3.5kHz up.

I realize I am late to the party, but I refurbed my D-410XLT with a set of Eminence CA1059s after the stock cones creased after 20 years of use. I couldn't be happier with the sound.

I'm glad to see you brought the beast back to life. They are such great cabs, it is nice to see someone investing in keeping them alive.

The impedance change shouldn't matter with your tweeter . Eden used a high pass with those horns , the same one in all their cabs .

Four of these drivers will probably work . Invalid Link Removed .These will get you to 4 ohms in parallel . I'm pretty sure they are replacements for Edens . That will get you to about $450 . Add another $35 for duratex and you'll be at $500 . The D410XLT is a great sounding cab but heavy . If you don't mind the weight and doing the speaker swap it might be good for you .

I just sold my DXLT because of the weight even though it's such a great cab

I'd never get one now, mostly because of the weight, but years ago I briefly played through a D-410XLT and it roared! It also had something to the sound that my D-210XLT couldn't seem to reproduce. Still have my D-210XST (which has a flatter/deeper tone), though that's been replaced by a T3W fEARful 15/6/1, which has a bigger, even deeper, tone at about the same weight.

It is a thing of beauty. Only thing missing is the Eden logo. Could probably get one on eBay.
