Eden WT800C amp woes!! Anyone else having Problems?

KJung.. Man I have a Carvin B1500 and it sounds freaking great for what it is.. Im not selling it short by saying that though.. It is a solid amp... that and my SVT2s are my big guns. the carvin is way louder and gooier sounding.... the carvin clean in youface rock tone..
The eden i was hoping for a lighter 25 lb amp to throw in the car and go.. but im afaraid of throwing it.. it might brake...

Get Ye a Thunderfunk for that application:D

MikeW i think you said the BDE750 is pretty loud.. ???? that would be great for my flying dates that i do... lets see if eden can lift a finger to let me know what is up with the amp this week...like they said was going to happen last week...

GBE750 and no I haven't played one but based on the 1200 I am sure the 750 is plenty loud enough.

BTW, don't hold your breath on Eden.

Ya know, the 800c, and 1205 are just a damn shame. The 800b is a great piece.

Agreed. But I know of quite a few speaker problems in the last year too.

I have it on good authority that there were MANY Eden users and several EDEN ARTISTS at NAMM talking to a couple of particular companies about jumping ship. It will be interesting to watch the continuing fallout. Luckily I am no longer on that ship and won't drown if it completely sinks.

My friend just took delivery of an eden 4x10xlt two weeks ago.. the horn was loose in the speaker box when he opened it.. sure that could have happened in shipping from the factory.. but only if it were not installed tightly at time of manufacture... do they even have a QC dept?

The rep i spoke with also told me that they are going to start doing something NEW.. and that is a 24 hour burn in period on ALL amps before they leave the factory.. I said ***.. Geezz I thought EVERY company did that just as Normal QC procedure....

fyi, I also heard through the grapevine last week that USM Eden is pulling many of their local warranty repair places. oh so just make everyone wait longer i said..

Mike W.. I hear what you are saying about sound.. I think you and I may be in the same ballpark as far as tone goes for live gigs.

I did a church gig today.. never did one before..All Inears with Avion system to set up individual mixes.. great!
Ran the sadowsky into the DI....all done.. real simple. but had to back off the VTC 1/2 since the top was a little much going DI and in the ears.... If I do another I will bring the Pod xtpro with Tommixxes settings....
Bass , cable, Pod,... love that for setup and load out...set up and sounchecked in under 2 minutes....breakdown in 90 seconds and out the door...checks in the mail.. weeeeeeooooooo..

Kirk you oughtta just use your B1500 for your fly ins, you'll need a rolling rack though.:p:hiding:

Just flip the Eden immediately on Ebay if you can't get your $ back and you actually get a working one.

Man I think all church's should have the Aviom system. A personal mixer that cuts out all unnecessary communication with FOH. I did a service a couple of weeks ago thru a UA6176- in ears - Aviom. It's the best sound I've gotten so far IMO. No cab to color the sound. There's a side of me that wishes I hadn't played thru a UA6176 because I can't get the sound outta my head and I can't really afford one now. An amazing pre.

Playing bass at church and going direct is one of the best gigs.

Just invest in a good pre and in ears for your fly ins if possible Kirk.:D

That is one thing i did not think about,, I have not even been able to try the eden on a fly date because . well you all know the reason... but i am doubting the roadworthiness of it with bagage guys even in a floater case... well i had good intentions in the beginning of this mess...:)

What's going to suck is when you get it back you're going to be so nervous about is it gunna fire up or fail.

FOH will love it if you go direct w/out an amp.;)

I was an Eden artists before and after the merger. I have been through just about every head and cabinet that they make. The last 3 cabinets I got had at least one bad speaker and it took weeks to get a replacement. Jump ship is what I did, moved on as well to someone that returns calls and has a handle on things. It's almost as though the Eden folks need to shut down and worry about fixing the problems before more go out.

I have a touring friend that was endorsing Eden as well, and he has since jumped ship too for another company. He said that he mainly was having problems with their cabs. Same story, bad speakers, took a while to get in contact with anybody, sent a replacement that didn't work, repeat steps 1-3 again, and I guess he said forget it because he didn't have time or the patience to deal with that while on the road.

Wow. I am a little speachless (hard thing to do). So they can't make repairs properly or in a prompt time BUT they are going to reduce the number of places people COULD get things repaired? :eyebrow:

Ya bro, you and I both. I am hearing that WE are not isolated instances. I hope Prestia gets better treatment or when he blows speakers in that new signature cab of his that he can get replacements. :eyebrow:

Example of how things SHOULD go...

I just sent an amp I bought USED back to the manufacturer last week (they received it last Tuesday), as they offered to give it a once-over and apply any applicable updates... FREE (except for shipping, of course).

Well, it turns out non-trivial updates were applied which included significant improvements for both (ironically) add headroom/gain as well as lowering the noise floor.

Like I said, they received it last Tuesday... I got email THAT DAY, saying it was "done", and the amp is back in my hands TODAY.

...and I'm not even an endorser... just a regular joe public.

That IS exactly how things should be done. No matter who you are.

Roger at GB has been amazing and I can already tell they really care about the people who buy and play their amps.

EA, and BTW, this is not the only time they've made me feel like royalty. :)

+1

Even though I no longer have my Iamp (I think that I've found that I prefer an old fashioned power section), the time that I sent it into them I recieved excellent service. My experience wasn't as rapid as this one was, but I did send my amp in in the middle of a flu epidemic that had them short staffed. They were completely upfront about the things that were slowing down my "repair". As a result, I never became miffed about the delays.

I'm not in the market for a new amp since getting my thunderfunk/EA cabs setup, but I think that I would be hard pressed to seriously consider Eden if even one tenth of this debacle is accurate. Too bad really. While it wasn't the absolute greatest thing since sliced bread, I did enjoy Eden's tone for the most part.

Latest Update.
I went to the store to get e refund today. The store has been very helpful by lending me an amp at times for my fly dates, but still I dont have the amp or the money..

The store called eden , because they now want a refund from Eden, because the store will be out the cash and out and amp since they sent it to Eden on RA a second time.. after another prior repair attempt. Tisk tisk…

Eden once again offered to get me a new amp as soon as they come off the line...
I was told that story LAST week, that I would have had one off the line by LAST Friday.. Well its now Monday and no returned calls to me..
Well today we were told that it will be another 2 weeks before an amp comes off the line. I heard that same story 2 weeks ago on the last day of NAMM from a paniced regional rep.. The 2 week story is old and just more excuses that Eden has been issuing since day one. All excuses and no accountability.

It just confirms my reason once again for going the 100 mile round trip for the 4th time , and that is to get my money back today so I can see what else I can get.. It was a very professional and calm situation at the store.... I always figure you get more flys with honey.. or whatever they say...
Eden rep said he has to put in a Credit for the store before they can issue me a credit on my card. What bull #$%^. And the store will let me know tomorrow if they get the money from Eden so they can give me a refund. Since Eden has the amp on another RA and they have the money.
Getting closer to the end of this Eden amp fiasco. I love the fact that we as consumers are able to use the Net to let folks know both praise and problems with Customer Service issues… I hate getting ugly but this is wearing on me and the gloves are starting to come off.
