Eden WT800C amp woes!! Anyone else having Problems?

Thank you to the few people that have emailed and sent PMs in support. I dont feel like im the only one here..
At NAMM yesterday,I was told by the eden employee to not post anything more about the wt800c in the forum.
Two phone calls to the people in charge cell phones have gone unreturned.
I think that we as product buyers need to know how a company handles problems with the public/consumers.
My posts were repeated back to me in a distorted unfactual way. I tried to correct that eden employee to the facts that are written here, but that person would not let me get a word in.
I stated that i only came by to introduce myself and did not want to get into it at this time and place... and then was brushed off.
But since they started the firing of blah blah I advised them to go back and re read and comprehend the text. Folks, I apologoze for the drama.
I was told that they would get it fixed but no time was given. or how they intend to do so.I have already gone throughtheir repair procedure 2 times with it getting worse each time..
At this time i only want to get my money back... but since they have dragged this on for over two months now , i may be stuck holding the proverbial bag.

On a different but CS related topic......You want to know who i think has EXCEPTIONAL customer Service. Sadowsky... Sadowsky guitars has the best music related customer service that i have ever experienced.. He should give training seminar like Tony Robins does in how to attain excellent customer relations... Every Company in the world can learn something from Roger and Crew.. Sadowsky has nothing to do with this topic but if eden want to learn how to rise to the top again they need to take lessons from Rogers Organization..IMO

This is just really sad to hear, they just lost a potential customer. I was really thinking about picking up an Eden amp as my next amp, but i would NEVER think of doing it now. Problems aside if I was a business man and i talked to a customer who had access to a global forum of customers/potential customers/other businesses i would just hang myself. Whoever spoke to you needs to be removed from their position ASAP.

Hey Kirk -

Feel free to PM me and I will contact you about Eden. I too use Sadowsky and your comments about Eden needing a good training from Roger is dead on. As an Eden endorsee I am really frustrated over this as it has happened to me as well. The customer service folks treated me like I was dirt under their shoes.

All the best,

Mike W.

.....The customer service folks treated me like I was dirt under their shoes.

When I hear a comment like that it makes me wonder where the CS staff get the idea that the appropriate way to assist with a problem is to treat the customer like they are the problem. I'd suggest they behave that way because they've been told to. If they haven't, how long do you think they would hold their jobs? It's a top down attitude imo.

What a shame! I would have never predicted that this issue would go this long unresloved. I've owned 3 Eden amps and had no problems but they were 2002, 2003 & 2005 models. Nothing brand new.
I did however really get the runaround when trying to order an amp gig bag. I paid for the bag and was told that they would ship in 30 days. 3 months later still nothing. After several calls I finally talked to someone that credited my account and canceled the order. No comparision to what you're having to endure but I did get the idea that no one that I talked to at Eden really cared about my problem.

Bottom line, the company is only as good as the individuals that work there. When companies get large (or absorbed into large existing corporations) the voice of the customer gets very faint and hard to hear.

My recommendation is to not stop until you get a new amp. When it arrives, I wouldn't even open it. Post it and sell it as "New Eden WT800C in unopened box". Let someone else roll the dice!;)

If you are a company with a serious problem going on in one of your main product lines why would you feel that you are in a position to cop any attitude.

I was literally heading to a local Eden dealer today to talk price on ordering a D212xlt. But how do I bring myself to compliment their attitude as customer "servers"? I know it is an issue with their amps but what can I expect if the horn on the cab has a problem, or a speaker is defective during the warranty period or the crossover malfunctions. Most of these problems could be fixed by my local dealer I imagine but if a speaker has to be sent to Eden...well it may be the last I see of it for a while.By the sound of it, God forbid I call them and ask where it is.

PM sent... thank you mike. .I included my cell number in case you are at namm and want to get together.

My experience with them exactly, and they even deleted posts on their forum where I pointed out their inaccuracies (polite for lies and ********).

My only crime was buying a supposedly top-of-the-line 1205 amp from them, which had so many problems it was unbelievable. They continue to spread lies about me, and they get more inaccurate as time goes by. I now apparently demanded a custom amp, when what I jokingly said was 'when they finish the Rocco amp, they can get started on the Cameron Hood model, with a global effects loop and more gain' (referring to the disastrous 1205).

They won't get another cent from me.

Good luck, man, and continue to spread the word. This ain't China - we can say what we want, and they deserve it all.

We've got your back.

Cheers,
Cameron

Cameron -

I remember your posts and you are correct in how they treated you from my vantage point. This is really souring me BIG TIME.

Anyone had any REAL experience with the Genz Benz stuff. I keep hearing that their stuff is incredible and yet barely gets much attention (not one of the big dogs yet). I'd love to hear from people who have compared the GBE750/1200 and a WT550 or 800.

Yeah... the Eden Catastrophe I've referenced a few times on another forum was a lot longer and drawn out than this I'm sad to say.

It's not going to get any better. And their attempt at silencing you (maybe they work for the gov't... if you turn up missing next week, we'll know why) on a public internet forum of all play is all the more reason they're totally in the wrong here.

Someone needs to get medieval on their rear output panels... :eyebrow:

Can't imagine how someone would tell you not to say anything about there 800c. If you are having problems this is America. Can't believe I had an EDEN and i had recommended them to alot of people. I am sorry for that. You are having a problem with them and he says don't say anything about the 800c!!!!!!!!!!! And I think you are being nice. I think he may have said more of the same. If it were me they would have thrown me out of Namm.

Hey Mike;
I like my wt800B. I like trying new gear too...so I ordered a GBE750 right when they first came out from a retailer with a 10 day return policy. Which turned out to be a good thing. For me, it was too grindy, and the input stage clipped to quickly, especially with anything hot like my older G&L's. I sent it back. If you like the grindy sound-think mesa big block-maybe that would suit you.

Is that the only ton eyou can get from it? I sure hope not. I like a warm, tight bass. As you know I play rock and country. Both of which have eliments of pop in them. Cutting through isn't necessarily as big a deal with the country stuff as even with modern country it is still about fundamentals. THough the tightness of the bass has definitely come a long way in country music over the past 20 years.

Man the GBE750 was looking good too and the price is nice. What cabs did you run it through?

Well, there's a clean channel, and a tube drive channel, and they're blendable...but my big problem was that I could not use the amp's headroom due to the channel input's clipping waaay to early. Input on 2, master on 10, icky, gritty clipping sound.
I don't want no grit...big, full, warm, sure, but clean. I'd prefer that any amp I use be able to do DB and electric, which the Nav and WT800b do ok, and the Thunderfunk excells at. GB assured me the GBE750 would double well. My experience did not confirm that.
GBE support had no answers for this other than to let me return it and get my money back.
I ran it thru Schro 1210, 410, 1210+410, and Henry 8x8...with everything from my plain ole '72P, various active and passive G&L's, Lakkie 55-02. The input overdriving persisted thru all of them.
As I'm the only person on the planet that seems to have voiced this complaint, I'd say I had some sort of anomolous 750, and that your results might likely be different. I'd sure try it Mike, and see what you think.
I'd give them another shot, but my two choices were return it for my money back inside the 10 days, or wait weeks for another one, and lose my 10 day window. This was when they were just initially hitting the streets.
I asked them to let me know if it performed for them as it had for me when it came back to them...never heard anything.
Heck, I'd be curious to try them again.

I order a Carvin B1500 this week. Should be here Wednesday. After a while I'll post some sort of B1500 vs TFB420 vd WT800b thoughts kinda dealio. From what I've read, it's big, fat, powerful, clean, and ought to double ok given it's wide eq and appropriately placed eq points...

after having to contact a few manufactures very recently about issues with my equipment that have come up. I'm starting to realize first-hand that good customer service is actually not the norm (for me!). Mediocre and very slow cust. service seems the norm.

I have only dealt with Eden twice about 7 months ago. First time the parts came slow, but i complained and because they were cheap parts the guy gave them to me for free when i called 6 weeks later inquiring my order status. 2nd time, I just waited it out. 2 months for me to recieve the part I was asking for.

Called a 3rd time for a backup part, heard the price, and just decided not to bother with the cost and wait time. I don't think these were bad experiences, just very mediocre. The issues in this thread however, are much worse. Thanks for the heads up!

As for the other bass companies i've been talking to, I haven't had any that reminds me of SWR back inthe 90's where spare parts were sent free of charge by a nice guy on the phone, even the boutique bass makers.
