Eden WTDI Direct Box/Preamp

Does anyone have this yet? I love my Eden amp, and this would be a great thing to have for more tone shaping... not to mention for a great backup/DI box.

I've been waiting for an Eden-DI for a LONG time.

Will be interested to hear reviews. I always loved the DI on my WT800 more than just about anything else, ever.

It looks cool. I believe a bunch of people "asked" for something like this a while back on the Eden forum. I used Eden before I went to Genz Benz. I had a WT550 and a 20XLT and that was a great sounding rig.

Like many, Eden had CS issues about the time Genz was starting to make a splash so I went GB. I have debated going Eden again but am sceptical of CS issues.

I speculate that you can run one off a PP2+ or ISO-5. There are also other power supplies capable of powering higher draw pedals (CIOKS DC-10 & TC-10, Burkey FlatLiner, MXR CAE-403, etc.). Since the first day I got my wt550 I've been wandering about an "Eden tone" DI box. Cool!

Back in the day I was a Eden WT 550 user and thought it had a distinctive signature tone. But Eden has long since been sold and manufacturing off-shored, so I too have a wait and see attitude. I have nothing really against off-shoring in terms of quality, but wonder about the components used in building the circuits in this pedal. I suspect that they could be very different than what was used to build the amp I had.

The WT 550 also has a tube in the pre; the WT405, which this pedal looks like, has a golden ear chip and I'm betting the Direct Box doesn't have the GE chip or Eden would be hyping it.

I have one of the newer "offshore" Eden heads... it is a ENX260 that goes into a D410XLT cab. And while it may not look as pretty as the traditional Edens, I can still get that "eden" tone out of it.

I am very interested in this little box.

Highly skeptical of this unit..
Especially the Walwart PS. ughh
I and others have had there fill with the Eden mishaps and poor CS... I wouldnt bother .
Just my opinion.

It sucks how Eden went down the drain in a matter of a year or two. I had an Eden NA650 for a while and I thought it was a great head despite how heavy it was until it started giving me problems. Now, every time I hear the word eden the first word that is associated with it is cheap. I dunno why, I bet their stuff still sounds good.

I must be an anomaly, but all 3 of my contacts with Eden CS have been great...

I have a Tonebone Bassbone and a Sadowsky outboard pre/DI, but this is a tempting add for me. I love my WT800C!

Problem: No mid frequency control. Lose "Enhance" to gain a knob. I have a WTX-500, and I suspect the preamp is similar to the DI. At least it has a 2-position mid frequency switch.

Any idea what the freqs are on that two position switch and when this thing is available?
