Eden WTDI Direct Box/Preamp

I tried one of these last night through a DC112 (1x12 amp). I was impressed. Has lots of gain. Low, Mid, and high are sensitive. The enhance, which I don't care for in general, sounded good at about 20% The only confusing thing was the light, which is on when the circuit is bypassed. Seems like a useful tool if you play a variety of musical styles. I often adjust the amp controls between songs, so maybe I could use this pedal instead. Sounds like Eden, but then I was playing through an Eden amp. Kinda wish it had a mid fr knob instead of the enhance, but that's me. BTW not a lot of noise. I'm gonna go back and try it again.

I looked on Musician's Buy, and they have it for $149, and there's no indication it's not in stock. But I'll bet it's not.

wow... thats not a bad price at all. if i didnt have a whopping five pedals being built right now id drop the cash on it. im looking at it to go against the mxr eq and bddi that i use essentially as preamps (dropped the rack preamp a while ago).

i do still have a navigator and 410xlt collecting dust to compare it to. im also really wondering about the compressor, because i was never a huge fan of the one tacked onto the navigator.

if this can get some eden sound out of my schroeder setup i will be extremely happy. the mxr is pretty sterile, and the bddi has some warmth... wondering where this one will fall, but im thinking itll be more versatile than the bddi. i may just buy it and never use the compressor. we shall see.

Highly skeptical of this unit..
Especially the Walwart PS. ughh
I and others have had there fill with the Eden mishaps and poor CS... I wouldnt bother .
Just my opinion.

I have this type of box from Sadowsky, Aguilar, Fodera, Radial, Tech 21, MXR and EBS. They ALL use wall warts. They're not going to put an internal power supply in something this small. I now have one of the Eden on the way. I'd bet it's got the front end of the WTX amps in it.

I think the point is that it's not compatible with the Boss "standard" power supply so you need another wall wart if you're using the One Spot. Not sure if its 12V would be compatible with the L6 port on the PP2.

Just lost interest. Uses 12V power supply which is included.

Actually this biases me towards this unit. I like more headroom.

I understand the issue of effect-board clutter and trying to keep everything on the same supply. But with my 18V preamp basses I'll take more headroom any day. Just read the manual and see that it can run on 18V... Now I'm really interested.

Let me know if I can meet up with you sometime in San Diego to try it out.
