EHX Focus: Your favorite Electro-Harmonix pedals

I'm actually quite interested in their new 8 step sequencer that's being releases this month. Just saw it on their website last night
The Stereo Polyphase is also great. Like the Qballs, it has the Start/Stop frequency controls, which let you narrow or deepen the sweep. You can get so many different voicings in one pedal. It also sounds better than any other envelope phaser I've tried.

I'm not sure how I ended up with 3 EHX pedals, but I have no complaints. I don't love the #1 Echo and will be swapping it out for something in the future (with a tap tempo, at the very least), but the Cathedral I've been using (live and otherwise) for close to 4 years, and it will go with me to the grave, and I really dig the POG2, as well.
My favorites are the HOG, BMS and Bassballs, but I also really like the English Muff'n.
There's a lot of reasons to both like and not like many EHX pedals, but if you are giving the blanket statement 'the rest of them all suck' you are either able to flip more gear you hate than I could possibly imagine or you are shutting them down without realizing the broad spectrum of effects they offer.
I mean sometimes I see an EHX product and shake my head and say, "What the hell, EHX?" but you can't argue with the unique qualities of their better offerings, even if they don't fit what you're trying to do.

I dig the Memory Toy. Keeps the low end much better than a lot of higher end echo's I've tried, and it's fairly versatile in a small form factor. Along with the echo, you can dial in passable reverb and chorus sounds.
I have the Memory Toy as well. I honestly bought it just because it had a CV/control jack. Unfortunately it doenst fucntion very well to control it!
I also wasnt happy that mine wont work with AC adapters. Maybe it has a bad VR? I'd use it more often but everytime I pick it up it's got a dead battery again. (dealys EAT batteries!)
I forgot to mention the LPB and the Iron Lung.
I use both of those quite often.
I'd say I have a preference for the EHX sound. Which is kind of a euphonic chintzyness. All of their pedals I have tried are never perfectly clean. They kind of croak in the low end and have little headroom. But when I listen to recorded tracks they have tons of character. Even the Nano pedals I find I prefer over pedals costing twice as much by other brands. Though the limited controls on the smaller pedals is kind of a bummer.

Mini QTron. I love the sound, hate the volume boost & size.
Anyone ever A/B it with the Micro QTron? Would like to regain some real estate, if they are comparable.

I have. The Mini is smoother, warmer and just sounds more authentic. I found the Micro to sound abrasive and artificial by comparison.
Love the Micro POG, that's my all-time favorite pedal of all time (not just EHX).
I just picked up an Epitome (Micro POG + Electric Mistress + Holy Grail Plus), got it yesterday. Haven't had a chance to really mess with it yet. Looks pretty good though. Not much bigger than the Micro POG by itself.

I guess it would be the Q-Tron+, since it's the only EHX pedal I've ever purchased. Not a bad envelope filter, although I think the Enigma might be better due to better control of the frequency sweep start and stop points. I'd like to try one some day. Also the inherent volume boost on the Q-tron+ can be a bit annoying. I wish it had a trim knob, something that would go like -2 dB output to +3 dB output to help out with that issue.
Couldn't live without my green Russian and HOG. The muff may get replaced due to size someday. I've also owned BMS, small stone, qtron, bass balls but no longer keep them on my board. I still like them but have no need, kind of miss the BMS..... When i think of pedals that i hated, it's more that i dislike chorus in general so of course the clone sounds like garbage to me. I think all of their products are great and people are too quick to write EH off because their products didn't suit their specific needs.
I bought a Holy Grail many years ago to play guitar through a very basic (i.e. no reverb) amp - but never unpacked it. Bought a modern modeling amp for the guitar, its reverb is fine, so I'm running the bass through the Grail. Z'OK but I don't really have much use for reverb, I suppose...
I _did_ buy the Ravish, and it's fun. Haven't tried it with the bass, I just don't see it being a happy thing despite a video on the EHX site of a band doing exactly that. But it is fun with the guitar, and I bought it mostly as an incentive to practice more, especially scales and melodies. I'm an acoustic rhythm player from way back and never learned the scale and melody thing very well. And I like Indian music.
Clearly it's a niche - borderline toy - pedal and pricey at that. Probably not at all applicable for bass. But I have no regrets. For me, it's all about the fun... If I'm practicing more, playing more, and learning something - it's a gain in my book.
