EHX Platform Stereo Compressor

Tried one yesterday at the store. I actually like the tone of the compressor and found the controls very useable.
Couldn't hear any noise issue at unity.
Then again that was at the store on a relatively small amp.
But that leads me to think that people who want to use it for live playing might be quite satisfied with it.

Didn't care too much for the overdrive/distortion but I am very picky when it comes to those.

Went back to the store today and took one home.

A/Bed it with the battalion for fun knowing it would be an unfair battle. It was night and day. The compression of the battalion took away A LOT of highs and made the low end very boomy. At low compression settings I could barely hear any difference and at high compression settings it became ridiculously noisy and squashy.

The Platform has much more clarity. I like the range of the attack knob. Past 12 o'clock on the sustain it starts to amplify noise and gets squashy but it's a nice squash that made me wanna play disco.

The limiter worked well. Tried it with the russian big muff reissue in front it and with some slap and it did a good job at controlling volume spikes.

The LED meter is great, huge and easy to read.
Could not hear any clock noise on a gigging rig. Might be different with headphones.

I'm not a fan of the overdrive but it doesn't sound bad at all. Just not my taste.

The swell is a gadget. It works ok but it's a bit cheesy. As someone mentionned you can hear the effect engage around 8 o'clock. I don't plan on touching that knob while playing so I don't really care.

My only wish when buying gear is that it inspires me and makes me wanna play more. This pedal does all that. It's not flawless but it's good, fun and reasonnably priced.

Just learned about this pedal. Any more users out here? How does it compare to the usual suspects like the EBS Multicom or MXR M87?

Nearly 3 years in and I still use it weekly. I like it better then the two pedals you mentionned.
IMO the platform is a great pedal that never got the attention it deserved.
It will be one of those well kept secret.
I would recommend anyone to grab one before they discontinue it.
