Electro-Harmonix Nano Battalion Bass Preamp

i ended up buying both the nano and the large box. i actually preferred the nano since the gate and comp didn't impress me. other than that, i liked them both quite a bit, however since i have so many ODs, and a few that could get basically the same sound, i ended up selling both of them.

What would you say is a great overdrive with a DI built in? Was looking at the Battalion...

It was not a "quirk" considered normal and acceptable, I remember seeing a (I'm assuming your) customer support email forwarded to me about this. Definitely a defective capacitor leading to the DC leakage at the input jack. Not a normal thing and I haven't heard anyone else report this. Would have been a very simple repair. Just FYI to anyone interested in this pedal.
Just found this thread on a Google search as i am having the same issue with a Nano Battalion i just purchased (used).
It is VERY noisy on its own and when i try to place it in my signal chain it makes any other true bypass pedal before OR after it POP very loudly when engaging. Should i return it? or have it fixed? there is a 6 month Warranty.

thanks

I would contact [email protected] to set up a repair. Thanks.

Got my Nano Battalion the other day and have been very pleasantly surprised. That’s probably an understatement. I’ve been on a hunt for a drive I really loved. Been through more than a few and found a few I liked ok but didn’t love. I decided to take a flyer on the Nano Battalion after reading up and watching some videos. That has not worked out before. But, I really am loving the drive I can dial in with this thing. Tons of tonal options for the drive as well. Finally found a keeper.
And, the thing is really pretty darn good just as a pre. I would be perfectly fine using this as a preamp as well, but the drive is where it’s at.

I'm also a new user of the Nano battalion and it is now firmly my favorite bass OD. I also brought an darkglass Alpha Omega and the same time but sent it back, but kept the Nano.
The nano can do transparent to my ears but has so many eq options you can really tweak it's sound - pre, post, mid boost, mid cut etc.
My fave's for sounds are setting it for a huge bass boosted OD when you step on it or setting it to a pokey mid focused OD to cut though. Also used it last night night in rehearsal with a hair of OD to some down tuned bass - sounded great!
Pedal board friendly size too! Really recommend it!
