Shouldn't we discuss what we do and what we use?

I have been interested in electronic music for a long time took a course in college back in the analog 70's. Some of the elctronica creeps into my more maninstream stuff but mostly it's just esoteric stuff that is a seperate entity.

For bass I have an Akai Deep Impact, EHX BassMicroSynth and a Zoom B2, several keyboards including a MiniMoog and an ARP Odyssey and a bunch of effects that are employed for sculpting recording into a Tascam DP01FX or a Tascam 2488 mk II.

Well I'm here 'cos my mates think I'm nuts using a MIDI pickup for almost all my bass stuff. I only use my bass tone about half the time. The rest of the time I'm triggering something else. My favourite is tracking the bass and having a sampled guitar chord follow.

It's great fun watching people search for the rythm guitarist when he's not there.

Alright, I'm in officially. After a few false starts, my side project band is finally practicing and working on songs. The goal is sort of a Dub Trio hybrid except instead of going between dub and hard rock we swing between dub and jungle/d'n'b and with vocals. So far I'm really happy with the results. I'll take #21

me. bandmates hate the fact that i use effects. except for one of my guitarists (whose also my best friend), and weve talked it over and were moving towards experimental/technical/psychadelic metal. digitech bass synth wah, ibanez pd7, and a digitech bass multichorus. not much right now, but i have plans. oh god do i have plans...

We've had a couple jam sessions that were really promising and everyone seems to be onboard and encouraged by how we sound early on, but I'm sure everyone here knows what it's like to try and get a new band off the ground.
