Very true on being a “personality” too early on. But does seem like her parents are really keeping a handle on her career and monitoring her celebrity. Personally, not sure it’d be something I might allow, IMO. Hoping though they stoke other fires just in case she hits a road block or just loses interest entirely. You know how growing up can be. She seems (for now) pretty well adjusted and still enjoying it all. Good for her.
Regarding the Sterlings and Markbass equipment. Good stuff, but I’m set with what I like. I’m sure the marketing ain’t aimed for a craggy jaded doofus like me.
What happens when she wants to quit? It’s going to happen at some point.
If she was a child actor in CA, she’s at least have a Coogan account and other protections in place. Don’t think that’s necessarily the case here.

'Cause, as a bunch of aging bassists who've been in the trenches for literally decades pouring our heart and soul out for whatever pay they're shilling out, we're flat out jealous of a kid that hasn't even reached the age of consent running circles around our lifelong pursuit of musical validation.
(Not excusing the cold shoulder, just offering a highly likely reason for it)
Ellen certainly appears to enjoy playing very much, and has made videos regarding her path of development as a player, her initial choice of instrument (ie the bass), and so on. She's making choices, with guidance, and putting in the work, and has been rewarded with meeting and playing with some of her heroes, like Victor Wooten, Steve Vsai, Bootsey, EW&F, and others. If there's a dark side there, as some have asserted without evidence, I can't see it. Happy and accomplished kid, by the available evidence. People's minds go to odd places sometimes.
And yes, she plays long scale too, even a 5 string fretless for some Jaco Pastorius! How many TBers got that covered? Not me

I'm glad to see I'm not the only person who finds Ellen's YouTube channel to be problematic. And, no, it's not jealousy: I would have given up the bass decades ago if I was troubled by young people who are better than me. At first, her joy in playing and all the giggles seemed authentic, contagious and cute. After a while, it all seemed a bit weird and distasteful. Just my opinion.
Kids also don’t necessarily realize the implications of what their parents involve them in.
Look at Brooke Shields. Her mom should have been put in jail.
Heck, google “Dan Schneider” - Nickelodeon producer who was responsible for a lot of hits, and you’ll be grossed out that he had a career for so long.
Point is, it’s exploitative to throw your kids into entertainment as a career when they don’t have the legal capacity to do basically anything on their own.
Even if she is pushing to do it, it’s the job of a parent to say “Eat your veggies and focus on your schoolwork.”
That would make TikTok the Ebola virus with a side of ALS while getting hit in the crotch by a lawn dart.

Ellen is a tiny girl that still has a lot of growing up to do. She needs to leave some room for growth with her basses, too!
