EMG Club!

I have a BQC in two of my basses (same preamp but 4-knob) and I'm able to get my sound much better dialed in with the BQC than the BTS thanks to the sweepable mid control. There are other preamps you can get for them that look interesting, but I don't have any problems getting what I want out of the BQC so I don't sweat it. I don't use 40DC's so I can't help you there, but I do think my active neck-thru basses with PJ's can cop Spector-sounding tones.
Cool, thanks Jimmy, now I know I can get either the BQS or the BQC. I'm looking for a Bass with neck-thru design 35" scale and very nice body wood with 16.5mm string spacing Ebony or dark black brown Rosewood fretboard and I know its either going to have 5-holes in which case I'll get the BQS active 18v 3-band EQ, or it's going to have 4-holes in which case I'll get the BQC active 18v 3-band EQ. Because like you said, there both the same preamp just one has 4 knobs with 2 stacked and the other has 5 knobs with one stacked, awesome. :bassist::bassist:

Hey guys, I have a small problem, I'm installing EMG DC35 soap bar pups into a fender Pbass, and i'm having a hard time trying to figure out where to place them since i dont have anything with soapbars.
i'm just sort of curious where ESP and those companies place them on their 34" basses? or if there's even some schematics/blueprints i haven't been able to find?
Here's a fender

Here's a pic of a Fender P-Bass, you could put your pickups in these 2 spots.

I am trying to find some sound clips of the mmtw---I, does anyone know a bass that came with them from the factory?
Search on YouTube, I bet you'll find a test demo there, or look up ESP LTD Basses and Schecter Basses, some of there Bases have MMtw pickups stock, I think the Schecter Hellraiser has 2 MMtw pickups, look for Hellraiser Bass guitar test or demo on YouTube.:bassist::bassist:

I'm in! I have been using EMGs for decades now on both guitar and bass. Started with a P in my '76 P in the late 80s. Put the original pickup back in and sold that bass when the '72 Jazz came into the fold in '93 with a set of J's already installed.
That 1986 P pickup now resides in my 85 Ibanez with a new BTS system. I have another mid 80s P that was in my Partscision bass.

I have two Steinberger basses XP2L in black (1986) and white (1987). The pictures show the white one with a black pickguard (i also have the white pickguard) and the rear of the pickguard of the black Steinie.
On the black one i play Status Graphite Double-Ball Strings in 125-105-80-55. On the white one i use Status Graphite Double-Balls in 110-90-55-35.
Pickups and electronics all original. I also have Fender basses (MIA P, MIA 62 RI Jazz, MIM 5-String Jazz). I like the vintage sounds from my fenders and just as well the sounds from my Steinies. I like the sounds from passive Single-Coils (Fender/Nordstrand/DiMarzo/SDs) as well as the sounds from my active EMG HBs.

Can i get a #?

Count me in, I finally got my ESP LTD F415FM 5-string Bass, 5 piece maple/walnut neck-thru 35"scale, solid mahogany body with flame maple top and rosewood fretboard with 24frets and
2 ACTIVE EMG40DC Double humbuckers with an ACTIVE EMG B-64 3-Band EQ.
I put 45 65 85 105 130 gauge
Stainless steel round wound Bass strings on it and set the action, intonation, truss rod relief and nut action and its frickin awesome. I jammed my new F415FM Bass at Guitar Center into an all tube Ampeg head with 8 stack and did an A/B test with a $4,000 Spector NS 5XL USA Bass and my F415FM sounded and played just like the Spector. I love it, and my ESP F415 only cost $1,300 and got it for $899.00 brand new with hard case.
I am so happy I got my badass Bass with Active EMG40DC's. Hear she is, its see-thru black too.

I have a question for the experts here. I just purchased a used Spector NS4 bass with two EMG 35DC humbucker pickups. Unfortunately, the bridge pickup doesn't work. I purchased a new pickup (same make a model) and swapped it out today via the quick connect on the pickup, leaving the old wiring. Still doesn't work. I switched the quick connectors from one pickup to the other and the blend knob was reversed (meaning the neck pickup still worked, with the blend knob turned in reverse. I'm no expert, but the issue appears to be with one with the connection between the bridge pickup and the quick connector. I have two issues: 1) I don't solder, so anything I do has to be solder free. 2) There are two wires coming from each pickup (one white, one red). The white wires coming from each pickup go to a separate quick connect. However, the red wires go to the OPPOSITE quick connect. Not sure if this is the issue or if this is by design.

Anyway, I was hoping someone on here might have come across this issue before and could provide some guidance.

Can I get a number please? I Love my EMG GZR P/J set, they sound amazing! I'm looking forward to purchasing the JVX set to put in one of my Jazz Basses, from what I've heard (from several YouTube videos) the JVX set sounds great! Thoughts on these pups from the guys/girls that have them installed in their Bass(es), Thanks.
